No, but Juice did.
Don't know how y'all could say menace seemed more real, yea there are characters out there like that, but they're few and far between compared to the characters in boyz. Boyz more closely parallels the hood IMO, even with its preachiness. The only thing plaguing boyz at this point is knowing how corny Cuba Gooding is and seeing how his career played out, takes away a lot of credibility from him in that role. On the other hand, it's crazy how his brother went from hosting wild and crazy kids on Nickelodeon to beating nikkas with belts and blasting nikkas in baby boy
But yea, like someone else said, menace was a bit too cartoonish with the violence and basically put a battery in the back of many thugs in training.
re-read brehwrong Gooding breh. That was Omar on baby boy.
Cuba was corny as Tre to begin with....They are actors. If you are a straight A honor roll student but can act as a drug king pin what does it matter? Just actors bruh, Larenz tate is far from O Dog. Yall are funny. The only thing plaguing boyz at this point is knowing how corny Cuba Gooding is and seeing how his career played out, takes away a lot of credibility from him in that role. i've seen this complaint about cuba in regards to BITH multiple times, he's super corny in the black community, and folks just don't like seeing him, thus all that shyt gets projected onto him in that movie. it's not about him actually being an on the fringe kid, people always pull outside perceptions of actors, singers, rappers into their view of them as an artist. this aint brand newCuba was corny as Tre to begin with....They are actors. With rappers yeah cuz they claim to live that life(they basically actors too)....but .these people are actors. Faking it. All of them. Cube isn't Dough. black people don't like cuba and feel he's a c00n, sellout, "not black enough"...do you not see why they would then go re-watch something like boyz n the hood and be turned off? cube, larenz, etc don't have that baggage. as i said, this isn't something new or isolated. a lot of black women don't like taye diggs in black (romance) movies anymore after seeing how much of a white girl fetish he has, they go back to shyt like stella and best man and dont look at him the same. is it logical? nah, but it's humanWith rappers yeah cuz they claim to live that life(they basically actors too)....but .these people are actors. You right. My badre-read breh
Boyz N the Hood = Straight Outta Compton
Menace II Society = nikkaZ4LIFE
One examines the realities and existence of the hood whereas the other exploits the violence that exists in the hood.
