The way the film plays out. Especially the end, when Doughboy claps those bloods, it's just a more powerful scene than what menace offered. Menace was more a shock value film, it's very entertaining but it has turned into more of an unintentional comedy in many ways. Boyz is just deeper to me, explores the family more, furious trying to keep his son on the right path, his gentrification speech, the whole first and third act. The musical score. It's tone seperates it imo. When I was younger menace I always like a bit more though.

You're def not alone, I've always considered Menace to be the better film. You should've added a poll.

Boyz fell, for me, in being a bit too one-dimensional and preachy. That SAT scene is downright boring. Menace did a great job humanizing a pretty fukked up dude. O-dog was wild, but you feel sad seeing Kane pass. Kane was the menace tho
