i must be missing something here. how is Crawford traded when he's about to get this Tommy John surgery.

By having TJ surgery now, he has a chance to make it back by opening day 2013. Obviously the Dodgers know this ahead of time so they weren't worried about this. What they needed was Crawford's approval, and he was more than ready to go. If he knew he could have gotten dealt he probably wouldn't have played at all for Boston this season.

They're already there for 2013.

Kershaw
Lilly
Billinglsey
Beckett
Ramirez
Kemp
Crawford

:manny:

Dodgers can afford the tax. They were the 2nd most valuable franchise in mlb last year only the yankees were more valuable

The tax dough will be peanuts to them

This isnt the nba,They can sign whoever they want and if they keep their payroll under 178 million(goes up to 189 million in 2014) they wont have to pay any competitive balance tax

I beleive I saw their payroll was 199 million next year? I could be wrong

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
Punto even walked and scored tonight :dead:

Don't care.

Move needed to be done.

I'm actually excited for the Red Sox future now and this is the first time I can say that this season.

I never really liked Gonzalez. Beckett has been driving me crazy for 3 years now. Crawford never really got a fair chance in Boston though IMO, he was getting jerked around from day one. He actually played pretty well in the 31 games he did play this season, IMO.

Sox need to go young.

i assume taking on Crawford's contract was a must for BOS to do this, that is risky but the other 2 really arent. A Gon always produces and Beckett had a 2.89 ERA as recently as last year. wouldnt surprise me at all if he pitched well for them

Crawford
A Gon
Kemp
Ethier
Hanley

thats insane if Carl ever comes back to a shell of his old self
