Just as it was just getting good
I'm not a win one for the gipper type of person, but why overpay for mediocrity? Why keep a guy who's gonna blame God for one of the worst collapses in MLB history in a market like Boston? And the fat, surly, out of shape pitcher?! And a guy who will only hit in one spot in the line up and delay surgery 2 months for no real reason?

They can clear the deck of these kinds of players anytime. I can live with losing, it happens to everyone. But i can't live with the team putting out a clearly inferior product and crying wolf because it cost them too much. Don't piss on my head and try to convince me its raining. Because unless your the NYY its unrealistic to expect a WS every year. I give the credit where its due and the NYY have done a better job managing and meeting expectations.

Crawford has agreed to the trade, per Jon Heyman.

good move for the red sox, that group just wasnt working out

Not true. Ellsbury/Pedoria/Agon/Ortiz all had a good year last season. Crawford was the only one. This year they've been riddled with injuries and their pitching has been wretched. They're 3rd in the entire league in runs despite all of that.

Pretty much.

Dan Johnson and Robert Andino ruined this iteration of the Red Sox. If last year's miraculous last day breaks in ANY WAY for Boston, this season would be closer to :manny: than :damn: and :rip:

If Beckett can regain any of his elite form and solidify himself as a solid two, and have a healthy Crawford and a motivated Hanley next year. :manny:

You know Kemp and AGon are gonna be

Sorry, I enjoy watching good baseball, not this atrocity they have been putting out everyday. Going through the motions mother fukkers. Why should I care, invest money, time, and whatever else if they don't care themselves? Do I want them to win? fukk yes. Well they win with how they are built now? fukk no. I'm glad someone showed some balls for the first time in three years and did something.

This is a great trade for the Sox. It takes years to clear that much cap space and they did it in one fell swoop. Not to mention getting rid of that Crawford contract - which is a top 3 worst contract in baseball right now - is a win by itself. Not like they were going to be World Series favorites next season anyway. This allows them flexibility and makes them younger, while putting an period at the end of the sentence of the last few shytty ass years. It's a new day. I'm impressed by the Sox - or maybe flabbergasted by the Dodgers.

Angels took away some press with the Pujols move. Dodgers out here flexin now but damn those are some horrible contracts. If they all work out with the change of scenery like Youk in Chicago they'll be praised but I don't see that happening. Crawford and Beckett are done.

Red Sox making the right move.

Yes because I know they will be building towards something. They won't be just a bunch of rich, fat, arrogant ass holes anymore. They might even care a little bit, show some emotion if they eek out a win, or play spoiler.

My only other issues now are Valentine and the Front Office and their handling of shyt (ex: Smears, leaks, etc)

Be careful what you wish for. As a Met fan .. I'm tired of this 1-2 year 'rebuilding' period.
