The amount of time between this show last airing and the mystery of when the new series is going to air has been nuts.

It's like BBC wants to kill the franchise or something.

Once upon a time we would at least get an Easter special and a Xmas episode in between seasons but they are like "fukk all y'all" now.

It's a 9/10 month shoot alone. I can't really understand all the hate the small gap is getting. Moffat gave us 5 series and a special in 8 years.

It's worth reading Russell T Davies book 'The Writers Tale' for a really good insight into how much of a job it is putting the show together. Making the main show was a huge effort but he also oversaw production and wrote for Torchwood & The Sarah Jane Adventures at the same time.

Moffat was too busy pissing about with Sherlock to give Who his full attention and it totally showed. He didn't want to make series 10 but did because they couldn't find a replacement at the time.

Hopefully the two parter opening is great!


Mandip Gill is so fire to me. Hopefully she gets more to do and comes stateside like Martha did after Who.

I think Lenny Henry's character Dalton(?) Is the Master as well. Just as the plane was taking off I thought it would be mad if he turned out to be The Master but wasn't expecting a reveal seconds later and not who I thought!

Loved the throwback to classic Who with the tissue compressor. Played by Sacha Dhawan who played Waris Hussein in 'An Adventure In Space & Time' which if anyone hasn't seen then they really should.

I liked the getting to know everyone vibe of Whittaker's first season but I am pretty damn happy to see a return to the high stakes storytelling we got with this opening episode.
