i never understood the appeal but i live in Australia so it's been on TV all my life i've grown up with the bad FX and all the weird shyt. i never got into it but i know it has big appeal and half the appeal is the corny effects and weird storylines.

I stopped watching and missed Matt Smith's whole era because of this.

Only started back because of the 50th anniversary special.

I missed Rory becoming RORY, River Song, Pandorica, Demon's Run, The war with The Silence, Lake Silenco... all of it

What a fool I was.

fukk you, Jay2012. Look at you. You had even reverted to shortening "Doctor Who" in to "Dr. Who".

Looking at all the profanity, I was still very angry yet.

But if I really had a time machine, I'd prolly have permanent scars right now.

I'm not gonna lie.... I stopped watching Dr Who because of Amy and other dude. what's his name? Rory? who gives a shyt?

But yeah I been a Doctor fan since I was a toddler and they were airing the shyt on PBS.. That and Blake's 7.

The sound of the Tardis gearing up and the theme song will make me geek the fukk out to this very day. I try to stay calm and look stoic.... still get the chills and shyt.

shyt left a mark like sesame street on my brain. lol

Breh, I wasn't really feeling her that way until this episode but now I look at her like

I wonder if she'll officially be called The Mistress from now on. I kinda don't like the idea that Time Lords can change sex. I feel like that part of their regeneration should be set in stone.

I was hoping for the Rani. How come she gets no love?

Missy the Mistress was great in her first really expanded time on the show and she had a lot of the vibe of previous Masters to her in dealing with The Doctor. And I am fine witht he gender switch even though I was hoping Missy would be The Rani or maybe even Romana. Especially after her line about being "left behind" by the Doctor.
I am curious to see if this sets up a female Doctor once Capaldi leaves the show.
Also this looks to be the first Cyber Men story in nuWho that may not suck.

I think I said it a couple of weeks ago. I cant remember who it was, maybe River.... saying that the real danger to The Doctor's companions was their need to impress The Doctor. Right now, we are watching a Master at work.

Very good finale to a very good season. I'm expecting Santa is going to help the Doctor and Clara get a proper goodbye. I didn't like that they ended things by lying to each other.

Not a fan of Time Lords regenerating into the opposite sex but Missy is killin' it. I want her, brehs.

Great finale to a great season, if it's not better than the 10th's final four specials - it's the closest one for the :new" series.

I must say I did not enjoy this season as much as I should because I was taken aback by Capaldi Dr. But looking back that might have been one of the better finale slash seasons of Dr. Who. I will have to rewatch the season to really appreciate it for the masterpiece it truly is.

Am I the only one who felt that missy/the master resembled Sherlocks Moriarty a lot.......maybe it's just me but it threw me off, I wish Moffat would let someone else run the show. I felt like it was just lazy writing and lack of imagination on Moffat part

I don;t appreciate them killing Osgood. I was hoping she'd get a stint as a Companion sometime in the future.
And who else thinks that there is a little Danny Pink in Clara's oven?

Not sure how I feel about the whole Santa Claus thing with eh Xmas special though.

Who is Missy? It’s the question Doctor Who fans were asking throughout series eight, before the sensational reveal that she was the Doctor’s old enemy The Master, now a Time Lady. But Steven Moffat wanted to have a little fun with the fans before then.

The showrunner has admitted he tried to plant a red herring during the filming of penultimate episode Dark Water. In the actual broadcast, Missy originally passes herself off as a robot, claiming her name is an acronym for ‘Mobile Intelligence Systems Interface.’ However, when Michelle Gomez initially recorded the line, she said something quite different.

“I actually had her say she was a Random Access Neural Interface,” Moffat told the audience at a Royal Television Society event, “the Rani.”

Played by the late Kate O’Mara, the Rani was a nefarious Time Lady who clashed with Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoys’ Doctors. Many fans speculated that Missy would turn out to be a new regeneration of the villain. Moffat believed that leaks were inevitable (whatever gave him that idea?) but no-one took the bait.

“Whenever I arrange skullduggery, no-one ever buggering notices,” he moaned. “We thought ‘everyone’s bound to overhear that’. Deaf bunch of b*stards.”

It’s not the first time Moffat has tried to prank the audience with an old villain:

“When we did Day of the Doctor, we went to the trouble of having John Hurt’s character [an earlier regeneration of the Doctor] referred to as Omega throughout," he said. "Is nobody stealing scripts these days? What’s the matter with people?”
