In May, I received a tip that Microsoft is changing up its Xbox strategy for the new financial year in the EMEA regions. I haven't been able to fully verify this, but the tipster claimed Microsoft will stop marketing Xbox consoles in certain markets in EMEA and focus only on Game Pass, cloud gaming, PC, and Xbox controllers. Microsoft has been struggling to sell Xbox Series S / X consoles in many countries across EMEA, and the tipster believes Microsoft will now allocate less console stock to Europe as a result. If you've heard more, please let me know.
A few weeks after I received this tip, Xbox tweeted: "No console, no problem " in a post on X about the new Xbox app for Fire TV sticks. If Microsoft is genuinely rethinking its console strategy across Europe, it will be interesting to see where stock is allocated for its upcoming discless Xbox Series X console.
It’s not 3rd party if you’re required to have a first party subscription.
I doubt it. They’re still in the middle of acquisitions that will take some time to show fruit. Their hardware will pick up when their studios from these acquisitions start releasing games more frequently.
Sony stans so triggered at the ActiBlizz acquisition going through after deluding themselves it "couldn't happen" they're tryna summon the Dragon Balls IRL to wish MS outta the console business now. Yea dummies, Microsoft just paid $70 billion for Bethesda and all them, in no small part because they were THAT scared of Sony buying exclusivity for Starfield/other Bethesda IPs going forward if they didn't.... so they could hand over complete exclusivity of every non-Nintendo franchise across the industry now and forever forward come next gen. You geniuses really figured it all out. Why don't you tell Amazon, Tesla, Netflix, all of these companies with hundred billion to trillion dollar market caps how they did and/or are continuing to do it all wrong if they've ever operated at a loss (losses in some cases exponentially, thousands times greater than all the losses of Xbox across its entire existence) and should actually just be abandoning ship and closing up shop. I'm sure you six figure six cert coli brehs who know so much better will be reaching the top of NASDAQ with this stunning industry insight guiding you surely.
With these arguments all you gotta give it is a few months….
Until such a first-party device materializes, Microsoft is looking to partner with different companies that already have handhelds out in order to improve the experience of playing Xbox games on the go, directly playing into the firm's recent "This is an Xbox" marketing campaign. We've even heard that Microsoft is exploring options around letting third-parties build Xbox-branded devices, something that could extend as far as letting them directly use the Xbox operating system.
These third-party Xbox devices could appeal to specific niches, providing a number of options with audiences or markets that Microsoft has previously struggled in. In this event, a hypothetical "Xbox" branded handheld from a developer like ASUS would actually be an Xbox, providing players access to the same library of games and the same services that they can use when playing on an Xbox Series X|S console.
Their CEO said this. I thought he wouldn't fold up on another hardware product so quick. Guess I was wrong.
Been said that Ms gaming wants to have a steam like storefront. This falls in line with that vision.

Xbox has a new "VP of next-gen" and they'll be at CES alongside Lenovo ... but what could it mean for Xbox's future?
Lenovo's gaming handheld presentation is being held at CES 2025 on January 7, and Xbox's Jason Ronald will be in attendance.www.windowscentral.com
Why would they leave money on the table besides whatever weird Sony Stan fetish this is.PC elitist cats are not leaving Steam
An MS storefront on Nintendo and Playstation storefronts ain't happening either.
Just go full 3rd party Publisher and eat.
