Yes. For me the most impressive aspect of Bron's career is that he came in with probably the most pressure and expectations all time maybe and played beyond and above. Despite certain flaws and head scratching moments, as well as being under the spotlight his whole career, he's always been at least top 3 during his career. But tbh I'm mostly talking about players I've seen close to or in their primes, meaning since 92 until today. If people have arguments for Magic, Bird, KAJ, Wilt, Big O I can respect them, but I can't make a fair assessment on those players. Anyway once you're in the top 10 the discussion is about different eras and personnal choices imo. And I don't see current players who can knock him off a spot.

He aint getting penalized. He just doesn't get extra credit cause of it. Were not gonna use losses as an excuse to place bron higher than someone with actual wins.

Now a guy like Charles Barkley gets penalized in these type of top player list cause he went toe to toe with Jordan in 93 and was balling out of control. Even dropped 42 points in one finals game on Jordan and the bulls head. Barkely was the season mvp that year too over MJ but because he lost and never got a ring he doesn't get much credit. It is what it is.
But that's penalizing though. The 3-6 record is about 90% of the argument against him, and nikkas even made up the corny "3-6 mafia" thing about it.

Most of the arguments against him in this thread center around him being 3-6. That's quite literally the definition of penalizing

He put that pressure on himself and he’s done a good job tbh. He’s top 5-10 imo , But he has a lot of blemishes to be GOAT or for someone that called himself the chosen one. Fact he had to leave his team and join with 2 HoF players x2 along with a couple embarrassing finals moment as well as some amazing performances. Stats wise he played in an system that had him controlling the ball 90% of the time. I want to see what happens if Luka (already on pace) passes bron on all these stats that people love to up. Will we be calling him top 5?

Lebron has MVPs, Championships and great playoff performances to go along with his stats....Plus he''s a better defensive player than Luka.....You can't put players in the top 5 based on stats alone.

Luka only 20 and already has euro ships and mvp under his belt. He’s got a lot of time. Look at how the LeGTB started moving goal posts once KD won rings or now Giannis is MVP. Just gonna be interesting to watch how obsession with stats for so long will no longer be a criteria :yeshrug:

True. Those are some of the flaws that will forever stop me from putting him at the very top. But regardless of everything I've seen enough huge games and plays, as well as his overall bball skill to put him that high. I value longetivity too. But like I sais (and someone else) once you're in the top 10 a serious argument can be made for anyone imo, even though I'm having MJ at top regardless and Kobe over Bron. But all that boils to preferences, what one values more, etc. They all have titles, MVPs, dozens of all-star selections, Olympic medals, are top 10 in major statistical categories, highlights for days, numerous deep playoffs runs, etc.

Eye test RIGHT NOW does not have Luka in the discussion. Stats don't say the whole story. Let us see him do it 7-8 years and go deep in the playoffs year in and year out with classic perfomances, and then we might start to discuss him.
