He cheated his way to the top. Like someone bragging about starting a successful company but, you find out their parents gave them millions to start it.

If he played by the same rules as Jordan-Kobe-Magic-Bird-Duncan-Hakeem-Shaq, he would maybe have 2 rings and he'd be in the top 7-10 where he realistically belongs. But, I understand that this generation needs "Their Jordan". Kids born in the 90s and 2000s can't see past the fact that he's their hero. They dont know any better. For me, he's top seven. I acknowledge that he's an extremely talented player but, I hate the way he went about his career and he shrunk in too many moments for me to ever put him as high as other guys. I couldn't even choose to build my franchise around him if I was a GM because he'd be gone in five years anyway.

Y’all love to ignore Kobe carrying lakers Against the western conference when shaq was being contained. Back then WCF was the real finals :heh:

This is blatantly false.

The only times when the WCF was the "real Finals" were 2000 and 2002. And in both of those WCF, Shaq was clearly the best player on the court.

In 2001 and 2004, the Finals were much more competitive than the WCF....and Shaq was the best player in both of those Finals too.

In 1999 and 2003 the Lakers lost in the WCSF....and Shaq played much better than Kobe in both of those too. And we dont' need to mention '97 or '98, do we?

All 8 years they were together, Shaq outperformed Kobe in the biggest series of the year and there isn't a single year where that's even remotely in question.

Kobe got straight up carried in the Nba finals. :shaq2:

2000 Nba finals
Shaq: 38/16
Kobe :15 ppg on 36%
Austin croshere: 15/6 on 54%

But kobes better cuz he won an extra roleplayer and second option ring. :russ:
:laff: Shaq averaged more RPG than bean did PPG :laff:
nikka was Kevin love status in that finals but let kobe stans tell it he's the GOAT because of it.
yeah RiP not tryna shyt on dude but idk how you can look at MJ in the finals and Kobe in the finals. And think it’s even close. That shyt disrespectful to other players

It's even worse when you look at the individual games.

Game 1: Kobe goes just 6-13 for 14 points, but Lakers win by 17 due to a monster 43-19-4 with 3 blocks game by Shaq, who shot 21-31

Game 2: Kobe goes just 1-3 for 2 points before leaving with an ankle injury near the end of the 1st quarter. Game was tied after 1, but the Lakers pull ahead without Kobe to win by 7 behind Shaq's 40-24-4 with 3 blocks game. Glen Rice and Ron Harper score 21 each on 8-12 and 7-15 shooting.

Game 3: Kobe doesn't play

Game 4: The only "good" game of the series, Kobe scores 28 points on 28 shots and hits two late jumpers in overtime to help the Lakers maintain their lead. But he wasn't even a top-2 player on the night - Shaq had put up 36-21-1 with 2 blocks on just 25 shots, and Miller put up 35-5-3 on just 19 shots.

Game 5: Lakers waste another big game by Shaq and lose after Kobe scores just 8 points on 4-20 shooting and commits 5 fouls while Miller/Rose combine for 57.

Game 6: Shaq closes it out with a monster 41-12-1 and 4 blocks game on 19-32 shooting. Kobe shoots just 8-27 on the night, but the supporting cast shoots 16-31 to make up for Kobe's bricks.

Kobe was absent in 2 games, ass in 3, and decent in 1. Imagine thinking that THAT performance was a reason to put Kobe ahead of Bron all-time. :laff:

:ehh: He's solidly at the #6 or #7 spot for me due to the longevity. I can see your point, though.
For now, absolutely!

I was leaning towards #6 because that's the Jersey he wore in Miami.

But in another 5 years, when he teams up with Ja and Zion

:banderas:

They gonna make NOISE with the KINGS.

There aren't 8 guys who won more, dumbass. Or even 3. :mjlol:

LeBron literally has more Finals MVPs than everyone in history not named MJ. But you can add Russell for his pre-Finals days, he would have won at least 5-6. Past that, even if you count 2nd-option rings and the pre-Finals MVP era, the only consensus top-10 players who have won more titles than Bron are Magic, Kareem, and Duncan, and two of those had to team together to split the rings.

They must think Scottie Pippen was a GOAT candidate with his 6 rings since apparently all 6 count just as much as 1st-option rings do. :russ:

Do these morons think that Sam Jones was regarded as the greatest forward in history or Havlicek the greatest guard? Cause they have 8 rings each including several as the 1st option....and Kareem's 6 rings give him just as many as MJ and they apparently all count the same now, since he had more MVPs than MJ too why doesn't hardly anyone make a Kareem as the GOAT argument?

This the thing, muhfukkas KNOW that all rings aren't the same because we don't call Pippen or Hondo or Sam pantheon greats. As a culture we DO understand that guys have different roles and responsibilities on their championships and assign the proper weight to it...

As a culture we understand that Kareem's 6 are not an equivalent 6 to Mike's....

But with LeBron James all fukking common sense goes out the window and nikkas, not just one player although one giy is the main talking point, get credit for sidekick rings and role player rings and washed old man rings and having performances that pale in comparison to many of Bron's on that Finals stage. When LeBron is the topic now all of a sudden every ring is won the same and with the same responsibility and no other context of a player's career matters...

These dudes crazy 🤣...

Bro they gonna miss him when he's gone. It 'may' be awhile before we see the next guy with this degree of dominance for this long. We can count on half a hand the number of players in NBA history who could've taken LeBron's exact career and been this successful from it, and honestly half the hand is probably leaving fingers over...

Greatest player of all time, not a hesitation or shred of doubt in my mind, and objectively there's ZERO logical case for him as any lower than the third greatest player ever...
