$350k household with the bulk of that being me. That’s doubled in the last 3 years.

Wifey now drives a Tesla. I’ve always drove something foreign in the 6 figure range. House 3 times bigger now. I can buy shyt now without have to think more than two times about it.

Happiness levels are the same when income was half that. Got good money saved, invested, 401k, company stock etc but I ain’t trying to do FIRE and retire at 45 or anything.

Can I do a fractional private jet flight across the country and fly first class all the time everywhere (with no loyalty cards/points). Sure. But it would be the same as a broke person debating whether to stretch themselves out on a car payment.

Once you hit a certain salary level you really gotta get up there in the high 7 to 8 figure fukk you money range before you feel any difference and your life really starts changing and happiness levels go way up.

Started at about 85k out of college at 23, saved a shyt load of money during the initial pandemic haven't even attempted to look at a job since I left NYC last fall :yeshrug: . Could live another year or two with no job and be fine tbh. Just spent like 5k over the course of the last month without hesitation:wow:.

No, but for my age I make what I would consider a pretty high amount. I will have made over $70-75k in a year. I do not have a regular income but I work when I feel like it which is good but I also have alot of expenses which deduct from my earnings:

I also do not pay rent as I am staying with a friend though I do help out here and there with bills and groceries
Grooming such as hair, nails, pedi .etc
Doordash 2x+ a week
No uber but I do not have a car nor a license but if I need to get anywhere I can just ask a friend or one of my sisters lol
Miscellaneous purchases such as clothing shopping, shoes, games .etc which total out to about $1k a month
Not to mention bills and subscriptions which also add up.

But it's enough to be able to live comfortable and not have to depend on a boss, the only downside is that as mentioned my income while guaranteed comes in randomly so it's hard to know how much I will exactly make a week/month.

I also have a few investments into stocks *Mainly 'Meme' stocks but a few legit ones too* and Crypto, especially Shib which made me 5 figures when it went on it's big run, though none of my other Crypto investments seem to be doing shyt lol

This is what I was referring to in my response. If you’re living comfortably in $75k range and you’re not a miser, penny pincher or a frugal nikka than making 250k isn’t going to make a meaningful difference in your comfortableness or happiness.

What usually happens is the house gets bigger, the sofa a little more plush, the car a little more nice, and the money to accommodate all of that stuff goes up along with your income. You’ll be able to put away more at the end of the day. But not a life changing sum.

So happiness and comfort levels barely change unless you make concerted effort to live a 75k lifestyle at 250k. Which a lot of people say they are going to do but RARELY happens unless you’re disciplined and/or following a program like lean FIRE.

I know a lot of people will disagree with me but I’ve seen it happen. shyt changes when you have access to more money and nicer things. Even to people who recognize the traps and should know better.

You’re not missing anything at the higher income levels. And it seems like you know that already and are doing fine.

Right, while I would love to be making around $500k *My ideal amount to have everything I want*, my lifestyle would honestly not really change at all except much more travel and a much nicer house, everything I really want I either already have or can just save up for + the people my age who are making alot more than me are either legit drug dealers or scammers usually and while they have nice things IMO it's not worth it it to have a really nice car or house if I have to worry about either getting locked up or killed.

Peace of mind >>>> Money IMO.

I'm at that level, but I also have a low cost of living

no debt outside the mortgage.

and my mortgage is only $1150 for 5BR and 3BA, which allows me to invest discretionary income

I also work from home, which cuts my cost down as well

I only got one more kid I have to get to adulthood, so in 6 years, I'll be totally free and laser focused on paying off the house so I have damn near full financial independence.

I make 100k.
Live in NYC
4500 in bills a month
2 baby moms
3 kids on child support
Not living check to check
But definitely not living it up

multiple kids will quickly eat up ur money like pacman.

I only have one kid remaining, so I'm 2/3rds thru the second war as far as that goes.

I know u got a side hustle

Happy to see my brehs eating. :salute:

To my brothers on the way up or who are inspired, the best investment you can make is pulling out. Please do not knock up any randoms or even your girlfriend when you’re young.

If I had a child in my mid 20s, it would’ve fukked me over. Don’t even think about children until your mid to late 30s.

I feel for yall man :sadcam:
Getting on the property ladder early has made my life so much easier.

I'm renting out one place which is paid off and my current house is huge and I was able to put down well into the 6 figures, my mortage is just over 300 a month.

For a 1 bed in my area your looking at MINIMUM 1.5k rent I just cant fathom it for these 20 year olds:damn:

Quick tip if somehow you are able to buy, rent out a room or two, I was collecting 2.5x my mortage payment in rent. I fukking hated it most of the time as people are :scusthov: but man cost of living aint no damn joke

We gotta also take into account inflation. 100K back in 2008-2010 is not the same as 100K in 2022.In order to feel like the breh who was making that much in 2008, you gotta be pulling much more than that today.

$1700 profit per month?
Not yet, we still owe $27k on the old house but our tenant is on a 2 year lease. As long as we abstain from pulling profits in year 1 the house is paid off by the tenant and year 2 is complete profit. From there we will spend a little on upgrades for the house and then the rental property pays 75% of our current mortgage so we can take a month off here or there to use the extra cash for vacations or nice things every once in a while. The goal is to pay off our current place before automation hits and nobody is able to find a job worth a shyt. UBI is going to be scraps but it will give us options to live well if we are debt free.
