Newport News is part of the VA Beach/Norfolk/Hampton Roads metro area. Nowhere near DMV. Baltimore is DMV's lil cousin

I’d say Yes, they got Dulles and Sterling. Silver line runs/will run there. But they’re the edge of DMV on the Western NoVA side.

DC is the only city where the suburbs actively try to claim the city. Nowhere else does this. Even Northern New Jersey has a separate identity from NYC. Newark nikkas do shyt that NY don't. All areas that encompass the Bay are urban (SF, Oakland, Vallejo, Richmond).

Montgomery County and Northern Virginia are as far from urban as you can get. MoCo and NoVa have lowkey antiblack vibes too. ADOS really don't live west of about 13th St in DC and the whole region.

PG, I can see folks claiming DC because a huge percentage of black folks in PG are from DC. Even the black people with money in the outer beltway are from the old school murder cap DC but moved on up to the Eastside of the beltway when they got good government jobs.

A better question is why does nobody wanna be from Maryland? Baltimore be like... we from Baltimore we don't claim Maryland shordy. Montgomery County like... I'm from DC, y'know Downtown Bethesda. PG nikkas be like... I'm from Simple City, SE DC, I moved out when I was two weeks old. Columbia, Glen Burnie nikkas be like... I'm from Baltimore we don't claim Maryland yo.

Nah They just got those stops that whole side represents Trumpies. To get to the city you have to pay tolls plus it doesn’t border DC or Md on that side.
