"DJ Premier has revealed which of Nas and Hit-Boy’s six albums from their recently concluded run resonates with him the most, stating his fondness for where it all began.

On Monday (September 17), the 36-year-old beatmaker shared all the album covers from his two series with his East Coast partner, captioning the Instagram post: “Which one did you connect with the most on first listen?”

Not long after the post went live, Preemo commented: “KD1 IMMEDIATELY…Had me on the highway and in the hood windows down halfway Volume Up and Sunroof Back…”

Fellow veteran producer Young Guru also chimed in, sharing that “KD3 & Magic3” were his picks.

A little later, Hit-Boy added in the comments section: “i’m just realizing we made and dropped 3 albums in the last 10 months [mind-blown emoji].”

Nas and Hit-Boy have had a historic run since joining forces in 2020. With the release of Magic 3 last week, the duo has finally called it a day and retired their partnership.

The cross-coast superduo released six albums in four years, adding up to two trilogies and a Grammy win for Best Rap Album in 2020 for King’s Disease.

“He’s like my Quincy [Jones], you know what I mean?” Nas said about Hit-Boy during a 2021 interview with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden. “So I feel like the next thing I do, if I was to work with Hit-Boy on the next thing I do, I think that we might do something that is going to be magical.”

In the same spirit, Hit-Boy has also flaunted his lethal connection in the studio with Nas.

“It’s just me and Nas in the studio,” he said during an after-party for King’s Disease 2. “There be n-ggas in the studio. It’s just me and bro, bro. Do y’all hear this shyt? It’s just me and this n-gga in the studio. He’s barred up, I’m making beats. No hooplah.

“We not on fukkin’ Twitter botherin’ y’all. We not on IG Live putting a weird-ass stream up, n-gga. We doin’ this shyt for real though, n-gga! Stop playin’!”

Can someone explain to me how we got SIX Hit-Boy and Nas albums but couldn't get even one Primo/Nas one? Is it something just fans fantasized about and that really never was in talks?
nah it was in the cards a long time ago. but scheduling, etc.

plus i remember hearing/reading nas gotta be inspired...not saying Primo wouldn't necessarily not inspire him but he probably feels something w/ hit and that's how we were able to get all these albums.

Nas never actually said he would do an entire Premo album until after Hip Hop Is Dead dropped and later KD3. I’ve said this before even in the Scratch Magazine cover story Nas said Primo was going to be on the album that became Hip Hop Is Dead but that he was going to get a bunch of other producers on it as well.

Nas and Primo DID do a song for Hip Hop Is Dead but couldn’t finish it because Primo had limited time before he was scheduled to go out of the country. He even said at the time that Nas was upset that Primo had to leave.

After Hip Hop Is Dead dropped Nas said he wanted to do an entire album with Premo and album with Dr Dre and drop them on the same day.

Could be but that's irrelevant to my question, there's still no album.

Makes sense. It’s the most modern sounding of the albums and one that sounds major. The other albums are great cause they craft the type of beats ppl wanna hear Nas rap on but this stuck with the theme and made the most risks in terms of seeing would he fit on modern production

Even the king of boom bap beats can’t deny it
