Any beginners tips breh? I've read a little bit on the game. Gonna start with a geomancer/ pyro witch and a fighter with some perception to find traps. Don't think im rolling with a rogue or ranger 1st playthru. Is 2 mages and 2 warriors viable or is a rogue essential? You on PC or console?

@hex can you turn the friendly fire off?
Breh, this damn Jake murder. I've fukked around and killed the mortician and esmeralda i found the body was a fake, found that love letter ffrom the duke. I guess esmeralda killed him? I might have to use a walkthrough or start thos shyt over.Nothing is technically "needed". The game is one of the most open I've ever played in terms of how you can approach problems and/or combat.
The only downside with mixing classes (like two mages, two warriors) is mages (same as rangers) are long range and warriors (same as rogues) are short range. And there is "friendly fire" in the game so your mages are going to hit your warriors at some point.
Personally, if you're just starting out I'd go with 3-4 mages and 1 warrior. You can assign skill points however you want so it's possible to start with a warrior and give them magic, or give a mage ranged attacks. But warriors, rogues and even rangers are kind of a pain in the ass initially, due to the "friendly fire" aspect of the game.
Also steal everything. It's the easiest way to make money in the game. Just don't get caught. I'd unlink the party, engage an NPC with one character, make sure he's facing the opposite direction and use another character to steal everything that wasn't nailed down.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Fred.
Yeah I like that about this game. Oil + Flare has done right by me.Nope. But that's kind of the point of the combat. Everything in the game is affected by physics. It rains, if you're on uneven terrain the rain will pool and form puddles. Use a lightning spell, and it'll electrify all the puddles and damage and/or stun anyone on them.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Coming To Consoles
Divinity: Original Sin 2 developer Larian Studios has announced that the title is coming to PS4 and Xbox One (physically and digitally) in August courtesy of publisher Bandai Namco.
The game doesn't have a specific release date yet, but the studio is promising that the console version contains content updates as well as extra features. The studio also says that title's user interface is tailored for consoles, including four-player online co-op and two-player splitscreen.
What exactly is Divinity: Original Sin 2? It's a sandbox RPG that encourages exploration and experimentation, but you'll probably get a much better sense of it if you read Dan Tack's outstanding review. Spoiler: He gave the game a 9.75 out of 10.
