idk if its cause this is my first CRPG since Dragon Age Origins, but this shyt is fire as hell. I'm already thinking of how I wanna play my next playthrough and looking at games like Pillars of Eternity 2 to play next.

Currently cleaning up Reaper's Coast. The main scenario is taking me to the next area, but I still got tons of side quests left in this area (ended up missing the dragon stuff in Fort Joy cause I thought I could come back to it). My only criticisms with the game are janky design decisions here and there.

You gonna be chasing the divinity original sin 2 high for awhile. I’ve played like 20 CRPGs since and nothing even remotely compares. PoE is a fukking slog tbh

I’m kind of disappointed their next game is Baldurs Gate 3 cause i really didn’t enjoy the beta as much as Divinity. I’m hoping by the time it releases it feels better. What I would give to have Larian make a cyberpunk style game in Divinity’s style. I hate that they are stuck doing another Medieval D&D inspired series.

Savor this experience

Man I was thinking the same thing. Imagine if they made a far future sci-fi version of this game with a similar aesthetic to The Ascent. That shyt would be crack. The whole euro-fantasy/medieval shyt is old and tired at this point. The goofy humor would work better under a sci-fi setting too.

What do you know about Wasteland 3? I got a guy in a discord server recommending me this game since I liked DOS2. Its more Fallout type of sci fi than Cyberpunk or The Ascent type of sci fi. I think its turn based combat too.

Yeah, just imagining running the streets with your own gang and shyt…:banderas:

Wasteland 3 is very good but released on consoles busted as shyt so i never finished the last 3rd of it and dont have the will to play through it again. From what I hear it was mostly fixed and polished as of last year. Don’t expect in depth charming character stories like Divinity though. Your main squad is mostly gonna be created characters that don’t talk or emote or anything. The companion characters you find are better but not as strong.

Yeah when it comes to this whole genre, I prefer playing on PC.

I had DOS 1 and 2 for console for years, cant even remember how I got these games, but never played them more than an hour cause the controls were so awkward. Only started playing DOS2 now after getting it thru the Steam sale. Most CRPGs play completely differently between console and PC in terms of controls and difficulty. Dragon Age Origins on PC vs console are two completely different gameplay experiences.

Wasteland 3 is on sale right now on Steam, I might just buy it after I look into it some more.

Yeah, might as well cop it while its cheap. I originally played Divinity, wasteland 2, and a bunch of other games on PC but my shyt is getting too long in the tooth so i just wait for console releases.

I will also say the UI design of Divinity original sin 2 on consoles >>>>>>>> UI design of Baldurs Gate 3 on pc. I think its part of the reason I disliked it

You might also want to check out shadowrun also, that just came out on console (also on pc cheap). It has good character stories and the cyberpunk theme is a nice change of pace. Only bad part about it is no voice acting and theres a lot of reading

Gave up on this shyt on the 4th Act.

This shyt became such a drag, especially with how the difficulty spikes in the last act, I dont even care to finish it anymore lol. Story was mad generic anyways.

Moving onto Mass Effect 1-3 Legendary Edition (PC)

Damn, i gave up on arx like twice, and went back an finished it. It’s actually really cool once you get into actual arx city. Those outside fights are hard as hell though..

I was in Arx. I pretty much finished 75% of the side content before the last story thread that ends the game. It was just more of the same like all WRPGs end up being, And a predictable story too.

What pissed me off was those cursed revenants that kept resurrecting as long as there was cursed fire around. I was done after the first fight and then ran into the next room and it was 3 more of them. quit to desktop and uninstalled.

I was so annoyed at first but I actually like how Divinity puts you in these fights as puzzles with a goal that isn’t just “Nuke everything”.

Makes me feel like I’m playing as a Hunter X Hunter fight

I would KILLLLLLL for larian to make a cyberpunk game. They got the best role playing mechanics out of anyone else in the industry right now. The amount of choice their games had is what i originally envisioned for 2077

Yeah but shyt gets exhausting in the last act with how the difficulty spikes up. There isn't a lot of enemy types to keep it interesting either.

What’s better this game or Pathfinder Wrath of the The Righteous

@42 Monks
Since you played it what do you think
Depends on how much of an investment you're used to and willing to try tbh

In DOS2, your build is pretty much decided and straight forward progression-wise very early in the game. In Pathfinder its a constant work in progress. Also Div doesn't take itself nearly as seriously - they actively encourage players to delve into fukkery at every opportunity. If you're not teleporting enemies into pools of electrified cursed blood and hiding bodies in people's houses to get them caught up, you're playing Divinity wrong.

Div's story is a lot more straightforward too. I think WoTR's story is waaaay better, but you'd better be comfortable reading dialogue and considering long term impact in most serious conversations. You're also less likely to get absolutely destroyed by shyt you don't even understand in Divinity.

I think Pathfinder WoTR is better, but its just preference for me. They're both objectively best-in-genre level titles and if there's any gap between them its not large at all.
