Melo was never the elite player people made him out to be
I sincerely believe Melo is elite, but his talent level makes it so that he can only put in half the effort and still be a top 10/15 player in the league. Melo is constantly out of shape and still shytting on teams

yea that's true, i'll agree. I guess since he hasn't put it all together in the way we all feel he can, it's hard to put him into that ELITE tier. I think well hope that seeing Bron getting it done this past season and getting another Olympic Gold will inspire him this year. I think having some stability after all of last season will help as well

Melo is a superstar, no doubt. But I'd put him in a class with Dominique Wilkens. Obviously their games are nothing alike but they're 2 ballhogging volume scorers who aren't really expected to win anything.

These are the people who will go on and on about his offensive skillset and what he can do. That fact that he has never actually done it is irrelevant to them. It's sad really.
My knock on Melo has always been if you are gonna be one-dimensional you had better be the best at that dimension (Durant). 9 years in and all he brings to the table is scoring and this nikka couldn't muster one scoring title.
The "best scorer in the NBA" should have a scoring title. It's not like he's been sacrificing for the good or the team or anything.
