:dwillhuh:

isn't that the year melo was just bullying the lakers on the block all series....had nuggets in a position to win the series...then all of a sudden that scrub Anthony Carter threw the inbounds pass directly to trevor ariza to end the game????/ TWICE???!!!???

Its not a one man game..you need competent teammates to get to the big game.....

Look what Melo did against the Lakers.

Game 3: 4/13 - 21 points/5/3
Game 4: 3/16 - 15 points/3/5
Game 5: 9/23 - 31 points/4/4
Game 6: 6/17 - 25 points/2/2

I'm telling you, going by a case by case basis, you wouldn't be "surprised" at those teams being bumped.

But you're interested in that. You're looking at the overall end result and not seeing it one by one.

It's not Melo's fault that his former coach George Karl has a 78-102 playoff record and was the first coach to have a number 1 seed lose to a #8 .

LOTS of context you're missing.
if the Nuggets weren't favored against the Jazz and Clips, then all this "depth won't work in the playoffs/you can't win without a star" talk I hear Ad nauseam is pure unadulterated bullshyt. :heh:

and since we're all about context, before Chauncey came to town, the Melo era Nuggets NEVER took the regular season seriously and would routinely tank games against bottom feeders and only show up for the good teams/big markets. that means much more in the West than the East, where 2-3 games was the difference between seeing the Rockets in the first round instead of the Spurs. you can't pin that on Karl. :manny:

I still don't see a team with Melo as the best player ever winning a championship. Knicks might prove me wrong this year or in the ones to come but I doubt it :manny:

how was it his fault ? He needed people to step up and they didn't . Is it Kobe's fault when the lakers lose ? Stats don't tell you the whole picture and to say they do you already had a agenda . Kobe final performance should tell you that . .

Cancerlo Anthony = overrated

The G.O.A.T. Starbury>>>>>>>>>>>>cancerlo

Wait so we ignore all of cp3s playoff stinkers to hate on Melo who actually made it to the wcf before and makes the playoffs every year . I can't believe people blaming Melo for the team mailing in games . I didn't realize George Karl was this coaching savant above criticism

:wtf:

Melo shot below 40% in the last 4 games. With Ariza and Kobe guarding him. In the first game he was UNSTOPPABLE. Most Laker fans thought we were done, but Melo mailed it in. Thank God he did.

He didn't mail it in he just didn't win . I watched that series you played good defense on him and they still pushed it to game six . He's a 45% career fg let's Not act like he's kd . When Kobe shot bad in the finals was he Mailing it in ?:what: how is Melo viewed as worse than cp3 who's put up some horrible playoff games? Where is the cp3 thread ? He hasn't even been as far as Melo or been in the playoffs as much
And he lost game one you act like it was 2-0 nuggets

Carmelo has shot below 40% 4 out of 9 playoff series he's been in.

The Nuggets were a great team outside of him. If Carmelo had played better they would have beaten the Lakers. Most of those games came down to the last minute with Kobe playing out of his mind. The reason we got Artest is because Ariza couldn't guard Carmelo to save his life. We played okay defense on him, but we weren't a great defensive team. Carmelo was the one player we couldn't stop, but thankfully he just gave up.

see this is that retarded nonsense

he didn't have a bad stretch of games? He didn't go cold at a bad time?

nope...you said he GAVE UP...like you believe he stopped trying

that's idiotic and something you have no way of knowing unless you are personal friends with Carmelo and he told you that himself

nope...that's just a way for you to make it seem worse and seem like he's a player that gives up and quits on his team when you have no evidence other than a bad stretch of play.

Fireworks ensued in the Denver locker room after Game 3. "We quit," said Carmelo Anthony. "From the coaches to the players, we quit. I’m saying we because I’m a part of this, too. We all just gave up."

so a frustrated player after one game saying that means he didn't try for the rest of the series?

when he put up 31 points he wasn't trying?

you guys just love to make it seem like people are out there not giving a damn because you don't like a player...but you know...keep believing stuff like that...it's why a lot of journalists still have job, because people eat this stuff up...people pulling quotes out of context and interpreting players words like they have a degree in psychology
