so a frustrated player after one game saying that means he didn't try for the rest of the series?

when he put up 31 points he wasn't trying?

you guys just love to make it seem like people are out there not giving a damn because you don't like a player...but you know...keep believing stuff like that...it's why a lot of journalists still have job, because people eat this stuff up...people pulling quotes out of context and interpreting players words like they have a degree in psychology
Just watch the series fool. Look at Carmelo in game 1 and then in game 5. He didn't try as hard.

once again...we don't know what was going on...we weren't in the locker room...we don't have a clue how or why things turned out like they did

but i seriously doubt it was lack of effort...people don't put up 20-30 points with no effort...that's just silly

You need to be in the locker room to see if players are lacking effort now?:wtf::heh:

That was from the 2008 1st round series. And he pretty much just took his cue from his coach

http://www.denverstiffs.com/2008/06/carmelos-agents-big-not-so-secret.html

This experience should have prepared us for the Carmelo Anthony vs. George Karl Era, which technically kicked off when Melo yelled "just don't sit there!" at Karl for all within earshot to hear during the Nuggets Game 3 blowout loss at home to the Lakers,

As for the 2009 WCF, in Game 3 Melo fukked his ankle up in the 1st half after coming down from a rebound. He was beasting early on in that game and once he got hurt, he was pretty much a non-factor the rest of the night. I don't know how much you can attribute to that, but he wasn't the same player after the injury.

Game 6 though was just an embarrassment from that entire team, Melo included.

Carmelo has shot below 40% 4 out of 9 playoff series he's been in.

:beli:

The Nuggets were a great team outside of him. If Carmelo had played better they would have beaten the Lakers. Most of those games came down to the last minute with Kobe playing out of his mind. The reason we got Artest is because Ariza couldn't guard Carmelo to save his life. We played okay defense on him, but we weren't a great defensive team. Carmelo was the one player we couldn't stop, but thankfully he just gave up.

They lost game one cause they couldn't inbound the ball :wtf: and the team made a bunch of bone headed plays late which is the coaches fault . To give Melo the blame is silly .not to mention the owner made them cut payroll that year so making wcf is a big deal . Again cp3 has put up some stinkers yet people praise him to high heavens. Kobe needed pau to win his last 2 rings and in game 7 vs the celtics he looked bad .

They were still down by 2 points when that happened. If Carmelo had played better it wouldn't have come down to that genius.

:wtb: lol you using some horrible ass logic . Like how Melo didn't score 21, 31 and 25 in those last 4 games . What should Melo have done ? He scored 39 that game I thought you were a big points guy

He had one bad game. So what? Melo wouldn't even have taken it to 7.

Kobe was great in the 2010 playoffs. Are you forgetting what he did to the Suns in the WCF?

:laff:

Paul has gotten past the first round more than Melo. :comeon:

They both have two series wins and Paul did it in two less years. :comeon:
