i was at a comic book store and overheard some parents and kids talking about solo and the parents agreed it was ok at best but the kids really enjoyed it. this had me thinking maybe star wars isn't for me or the adults who grew up with it. it's clearly shifting focus and moving the story to a new direction.

i'm still going to watch them of course but will manage my expectations.

I've personally enjoyed the Disney movies so far. But when I'm with my nephews n I see them enjoying the movies like I did when I was a kid that's the dopest shyt. I was a kid when the prequels came out n I loved them I like I see my nephews loving the new ones

It's too bad. Solo is quality storytelling. The Kasdans should write all Star Wars movies.

The only weirdness was the droid. She came across as a fanatic recently freed, but she also came across as formerly ver male. Some of her mannerisms were decidely sexually male. If you see the movie, you'll know what I mean and when I mean. It would have almost played better with a man's voice.

Solo is better than TLJ and TFA.

I don't think Abrams should be allowed near 9. Give it to the Kasdans.

saw it today, it was decent and def better than I expected. The dude who played Han really isn't a good actor but he got better as the movie went along. It was a nice little popcorn flick set in the star wars universe. However, star wars really isn't star wars without jedi and the sith.

- The main villain's light saber knives. Force sensitivity or General Grievous style handling?
- The reveal of who Qu'ra called at the end, which puts into question Qu'ra herself

2. She handles the strongest jedi ever with no training
3. Fights a sith with no training
4. Leia can fly through space while ackbar dies
5. Purple head girl shows her woman power by sacrificing herself
6. Rose ruins the plot by telling finn to kiss her at the most awkward time. After saving him

Maybe there was Star Wars fatigue and the movie did run a bit long, but it was your standard Hollywood popcorn flick

I enjoyed it. Watched it at free showing in Pearl Harbor. Would had watched it in theatre if The Last Jedi never happened. Going to be doing the same for Epidsode IX

It was a fun overal meaningless SW movie that played it a bit too safe. Which is funny coming after Last Jedi which went completely the other way and has become even more polarizing than any of the prequels.

Solo got hit by the perfect storm:

- Too safe
- Coming 5 months after Last Jedi
- Competing with Infinity War/Deadpool 2
- Competing with Harrison Ford/Billy Dee
- Bad press over Lando being bi

It just had NOTHING going for it, and word of mouth was AT BEST "it's ok".

I enjoyed the fukk out of it, but I get why it failed and I hope Disney took the right lesson from having made the only SW flop.

But some folks wanted to be extra about it.

It’s like they want this movie to be absolutely flawless or nothing. And I get having high standards but it shouldnt be “all or nothing”

I thought the movie was straight and there have been worse.

Watching the movie on Netflix doesn't tell the whole story on why the movie flopped and why people didn't give a shyt about it when it came out in theaters.
