Also, I hope they don’t reboot POTA. They need to do shyt post-Caesar. Still have that timeline open.

Of course they're going to reboot it. I bet they'll reboot the Taylor story. They want their own ideas, which is what happens any time there's a change in management.

Anyone could see that X-men flick wasn't gonna do well. And it became obvious as hell it was gonna bomb, once Disney got the X-Men back.

Stuber should have been an august release. Outside of Fast and Good Boys... ain't really shyt out this month.

that dog movie.. well another dog flick was just released a few months ago.

they purposefully did not do any marketing for them

they lowkey want all the fox properties to fail

and of course that too
:mjcry: You think Dragon Age is doomed?

Did you see what happened with Anthem? If that hasn't fukked Bioware... then next Dragon Age will probably literally be do or die

Rebootwood. :francis:

Breh, read this Fox Feels the Pressure From Disney as Film Flops Mount

That says it all. It's about what's safe. The entire premise of that whole article is they want to go with what's safe and what is a sure fire hit to make money. It's not about "quality" its about making sure every release can be a four quadrant movie and catch on. They don't give a damn about the reviews for the lion king, they care about the receipts. Had X-Men made stupid money but had lousy reviews, they wouldn't have given a shyt. At all. Quality doesn't equal money and vice versa

Originality is dying in Hollywood. Makes me contemplate my writing. Am I doing it for nothing? :mjcry:

Only dying because people have made the choice what they want to see in theaters. Disney is just reading the market. We get original movies in theaters all year around but audiences flock to nostalgia plays, big franchises, flicks with explosions, etc etc. and decided smaller original movies, like Booksmart, belong at home on Netflix or hulu or amazon. Money talks, homie, and we're speaking very loudly.

This is on us:manny:

I rarely go to the movies. Ima peep the new Tarantino flick tomorrow. It’ll be my third time this year going to the show. The most I’ve been to since About a decade ago. :dead:

I’d rather wait for the home release tho. :ld:

Disney has also created an interesting lane creatively, but remember years like this one are outliers. This year was a perfect storm of IP that people either a) really love or b) were waiting to see wrapped up. Next year, the only films that look likely to reach the heights of this year, at least at first glance is Mulan.
