One of the most prominent Jedi Masters staying on the sidelines for 60 years and not do anything while Death Stars, Vader, Palps, and The Empire killing everyone?
Not reaching out to Yoda, Ben, Bail Organa, The Rebel Alliance?
You'd have to retcon the PT and OT to rectify his role post NT...
Edit: It also makes his heroic sacrfice in ROTS pointless since that was Anakin's point of no return towards the Dark Side...
To say a 100 year old Mace survived the electrocution and 100 story-fall is just as ridiculous as Palpatine's return in ROS and both seriously undermine the PT/OT...
Also, Yoda would have felt his presence through the Force, when he was killed Yoda felt it and knew something was seriously wrong. Him being alive wouldn't make him rely betting on the Skywalker twins to save the universe....It would be:
Yoda: "I was wrong"
Mace: "Told you, that boy is crazy"
Yoda: "Obi-Wan put in work, but fukked up he is"
Mace: "Where is this fool? Lemme go show him what's really good"
Yoda: "Mustafar"
Mace: "Bet, next flight there and he is gone"

It's possible. Sam Jackson has said lots of times that he'd be interested in playing Mace again, and Lucas said his death isn't confirmed.
Jackson is also the right age, he's about the same age Mace would be around the time of the Mandalorian. They would have to explain where he's been at tho and why he never tried to fight Vader or Sidious again.
The last we saw him, Anakin chopped his hand off and Sidous sent him flying out the window with force lightning.
Jedi can easily survive long falls and losing an arm though
and they never found a body as far as we know

Yoda felt his death right after Anakin turned and Order 66 was a go.
That was never stated in the movie.
Implied, he nearly fell out when his best friend was killed and the Chosen One gave into the Darkside within moments of each other...
Even explaining all that away, why would Mace be on the sidelines for 60 years when he was a decorated War Hero and a top tier Force user?
Mace was scared to square up with Vader? He nearly killed Palpatine dolo, so he isn't afraid to fight....
There could be any number of reasons. If Obi-Wan and Yoda were in hiding I don't see why it's not plausible that Mace was too. After all Ahsoka was alive the whole time.
Nothing to do with Mace being personally scared of Palpatine or Vader. If they found out Mace was alive he'd have all sorts of Stormtroopers and Bounty Hunters and Inquisitors after him constantly.
