On demand was where this was headed anyway. The NFL strike a decade or so ago predicted this when it leaked owners were looking at an a la carte model of paying for the game(s) you only wanted to see. They just didn’t have the streaming capacity
My uneducated guess is that new buyer brings back the ABC Sports division and has some agreement with ESPN to sub-license and produced the games or that they have equity in ESPN if Disney sells it off.
