NFL too infatuated with big markets to consistently schedule good games. So therefore they will continue to show Jets & Giants 4 times a season
I remember when one or both were extra regular or worse it seemed like we got Giants/Cowboys 4 times a year in primetime :heh:

They were about to get Successioned? :picard:

woulda been crazy to see that play out

Kinda. Activist investors basically use their large stake in a company to pressure the board to make changes. So it’s similar but it’s not a situation involving a family transition of power.

I used to work at AT&T when an activist investor publicly called for the firing of the CEO. :mjlol:

Adam Silver better have NBC / CBS / Apple / Amazon...shyt, even the CW, on standby in March. If David Stern were still alive he'd be slapping Silver around like Don Corleone knowing his protege was gonna go groveling back to ESPN.

Per the report, a partnership would include ESPN taking control of NFL Media, which includes NFL.com, NFL Network and Red Zone. The league would in turn take an equity stake in ESPN. Such a scenario would raise questions about ESPN's ability to cover a league that has an ownership stake in the network. How would ESPN cover a news story that sheds a critical light on the NFL?

:scust: These a$$holes already ruined NBA coverage and broadcasts. They gonna do it to the NFL next. They had to poach Buck and Aikman from Fox to have a professional MNF broadcast, which was league worst for years. That shyt was like the XBOX of NFL telecasts.

AHH HELL NAH.

OTHER LEAGUES BETTER NOT
RE-UP WITH THESE fakkitS

Roger is really making money moves if he gets an equity stake in ESPN and gets ad revenue from other league's games without the overhead of running their own media content.

Being serious though, I just think this would be another domino in setting up infrastructure for the NFL to go global. ESPN broadcasts to over 200 countries and the NFL having a stake would only lead to it getting pushed more. The premier league and la liga proves you don't need a team to be within a region for it to be popular. You just need to get a foothold by broadcasting it with a few marketable stars.

First thing I thought of was ESPN taking control of those exclusive NFL Network international games.

They’re already airing one of the international games exclusively on ESPN+ each year as part of the new media rights contract.

ESPN+ doesn't include all the line ESPN content. I'm assuming this product would.
I only use ESPN+ for Boxing. At this point the "streaming" experiment has failed lol. The best Platforms can hope is there is a shift back to Traditional Cable and the Streaming Apps can be included Free or serve as a discounted Companion app for On-Demand content + Exclusive content.

IDK how much Cable cost now but if owning 3 Apps puts you at 90 bucks it makes no sense anymore.

It’s why I keep telling people that the end result is going to be cable all over again as people forget why it was created in the first place.

yeah, Streaming was really meant to just be "Create your own Ala carte Cable package", but was marketed in the same fashion we look at piracy where we think we are getting over lol.

But just like Cable you end up getting a streaming app but only watching 1-2 things on it thus you have multiple apps to watch the 1-2 shows exclusive to each platform and then you got thousands of things you paying for that you don't watch (just like cable).

All I have is Prime due to being a Prime Member and the Disney Bundle due to Amex reimbursing me for it.
