read the thread, theres rumors that the old cast will make a appearance which means no revan, no malak no old republic

Based on all reports, the Story will be about Luke, Han and Leia's kids and the New Jedi Order. There will be no story about the Old Republic as that takes place way before Episode I. By calling it "Episode VII" it speaking on the future not the past of Star Wars. Yes, The Old Republic is dope but we've been in the Past of Star Wars forever. Fans are ready for the Future.

this is true, but u gotta wonder since this is all under Disney, if they would let him make a lateral move to Star Wars.

*still wrapping my head around how Disney has Marvel, Pixar, and now Lucasfilms...

AND have the best effects company in ILM in-house now

*faints

Disney has said they will continue to let ILM do effects for the industry..but you know they now get the in-house discount

"Episode VII" has been the sequel fans have been waiting for 30 years. They written countless Books and comics in the extended universe. Just look at the reaction all over the net. Fans are going crazy about this movie finally being made and people don't even know who will write it or direct it. Just saying the words "Episode VII" has caused a frenzy. The Old Republic and all the Past stuff has been done to death with the games, clone wars and prequels. Again, I'm cool with it but Fans been waiting for the FUTURE of Star Wars since the early 80's.

did lucas give up the rights for everything tho... does he still get royalties?

Yes, Lucas is now the 2nd Largest Shareholder in Disney behind Steve Jobs so it's not just Star Wars money but Disney money. Also he will get "Creator" credit forever.

D*mn. No one wants to see their 80 year old asses in a new Star Wars movie. Let's take it back to the Old Republic!

Actually if you are a fan of Star Wars you would know that most of the Jedi Masters are hundreds of years old, there are plenty of old characters in the Star Wars universe. You making it like the Old Republic is full of teenage jedi's. As for Luke, Han and Leia being Old. They will probably have their roles but the movie will focus more on their Kids which will be young Jedi. Again what you have to understand is Episode VII is more anticipated than the Old Republic to Original Star Wars fans. Maybe they will do a spin off series later of the Old Republic but right now it's about the Future. VII, VIII and IX. I wouldn't mind an animated series of the Old Republic like they are doing with the Clone Wars.

Thanks for the knowledge. I've only watched the movies and played the Knights of the Old Republic video games.

niice.... I was gonna say... 4 billi was too low... if these movies are hits theyll make more then that in the long run.

4 Billi was just his retirement pension. They said he will be worth well over 10 Billi by 2020 just off the Film side of Disney (Now Lucas will cake off Marvel too being a shareholder). Then you got the theme park, home video and toys. This Deal sets Lucas and his family up for serveral generations. Before the Deal he was worth 2 Billion. Now he's worth 4 Billion cause he got 2 Billion in Cash and the other 2 Billion is the Shareholder stock. This was a huge deal. Mind you by having "Creator" Credit he still cakes off every Star Wars movie, TV series, Games and Toys forever.
