They see me trolling, they hating.....
A blind man could see Chris was on self-destruct but the way he went out...and the relationship he had with Tone. :to:

Would have rather he went out by other means...Tony has a weird way of disposing people.

we live in a cold cold world breh, and they was gangstas anyway. Thus is life

I don't know if I would have did the same thing in Tonys situation but I can't really blame him neither :ld:

the tree was a factor, but it more just drove the point home, gave him that extra incentive, plus twisted justification.

agree it wasnt a big factor. he explained directly why to melfi, twice.

Tony was a scumbag to the core which is why I hate that they didn't show him getting killed. I loved the character but seeing him die would've been poetic justice. He was no better than any of the other guys on the show he only had morals when it suited him.

Tony was a sociopath, or at least close, his thin justifications for Chris murder, remember him going on and on about the by seat, were just his defense mechanisms to rationalize his behavior. The way Tony always did. He killed Chris because their relationship was failing, though not altogether broken, the resentment and bitterness between the both of them was their for years, worse after the Ade incident. And Tony was also really affected by Chris portrayal of him in that 'Cleaver' movie. He thought Chris despised him, and would never forgive him for a number of things. And he was probably right, but if Tony wasn't Tony, they could have worked through, Chris still loved him, and looked up to him, crazy. All Tony had to do was be there for Chris, but the selfish, self deluded fukk couldn't do it. Look at Tony's treatment of Chris at his barbecue. And then christening.

Also, if you watch closely, Tony kind of realized Chris is coked up, in those minutes right before the crash. Chris is distracted, fidgety, talking weird, but Tony, is talking about 'Smell the roses' and trying to see the positive, but when Chris confesses, Tony just methodically kills him, and solves a number of his problems. It wasn't really business why Tony killed him, it was pettiness, and resentment, anger, jealousy, disappointment, disillusionment. Sad way to go.

This is fukking gospel. peep around the 2:30 mark of this video. It perfectly conveys all the emotions you mentioned about Tony and Chris's relationship

This is all truth, but their relationship issues went both ways. Tony wanted Chris to be his heir, but he couldn't get right. Chris kept this "woe is me" attitude, and remained a junkie instead of cleaning himself up, playing his role and becoming the boss Tony wanted him to be.

I always thought Chris' murder was one of the more poignant displays since it showed how much of a sociopath Tony was. He made the decision to kill his heir, his family, a dude he felt was like a son, in a split second with no hesitation. Only a sociopath could do something like that.

wow, can't believe cats is really dissing Tony for that, I'm surprised.

If you don't play ur role and continue to fuk up then consequences must be made, this ain't no damn after school special.

Ur a sociopath for letting a nikka die who could have potentially murdered an infant that night? Who could potentially flip on you and ur whole organization over some NOSE CANDY?

It ain't even like he technically and strategically plotted to KILL the nikka, he just helped him die

Similar to Walt "helping" Jesse's basehead girlfriend die by not doing shyt

:manny:

In both cases they were sadly things that were necessary from a business perspective, not everyone would of had the strength to do what NEEDED to be done like those two men did in those situations though. It hurt me to see Chris go too but :manny:

If u have to actually ask that question then ur not too bright sir

dude was a liability and constantly lied to him about being clean. If you lying to him about being clean then what else might he also lie about sometime in the future? A coke/heroin head is not in his right state of mind and would probably go to the cops with the quickness or do sum other dumb shyt. Dude gave him numerous chances and physically forced him into rehab. Christopher was supposed to take over the family after Tony because Tony wanted AJ to have no parts in that life. Dude threw it all away over nose candy

The dumb nikka got them into a fukkin car accident because he was so high and could have potentially killed his newborn baby because you saw what that tree did to the baby seat.

Tony did the right thing IMO

Did Tony really wanted AJ not to be in the mob by choice? AJ was a fukking loser since the beginning of the show, his ass was not bout that mob life and Tony knew it. Hell Meadow had more balls than AJ, all AJ did was get in trouble, cry, simped and not be punished... wash rinse repeat. Christopher was the only logical choice by default to be Tony's heir which made it easy for Tony to kill Christopher since he was a constant fukk up to the point where it just wasn't worth it keeping him around. That's not being a sociopath that's being a business that walks away and cut ties from a bad business deal.

I don't think anyone in that lifestyle wants their kids to live that life b.

Jackie Aprile SR wanted his son Jackie Jr to have no parts of that life also, and Tony tried his best to steer him clear of that after his father died. However dude didn't listen and wanted to do his own thing and look where it got him

There's a scene somewhere where Tony says, either he about AJ or Jackie Aprille, that he doesn't want him involved in the mob life. Chris then goes "What, and it's ok for me?" or sth like that - Tony then looks dumbfounded and doesn't have a response.

Ironically it was Jackie Aprile who wanted to get into the mafia whereas Chris wanted to go into showbiz (lo and behold, Tony ends up pulling AJ out his depression by getting him into the movie business).

One of the underlying themes is that Tony and Christopher both look up to Chris's dad - who was, even though they mostly idealize him, also a drug and alcohol addict.
