I compared Dionne Warwick 1963-86 run to Beyoncé's 1998-2019 run. That's a fair assessment to me -- 23 years vs 21 years. Dionne's music made a bigger impact during her time than Beyoncé's has in hers.

If you want to say she’s had a greater impact over the roughly first 20 years of their career Even then that’s a strange qualifier relative to music. Forget comparing her to Aretha, Mariah, Diana, etc since they are icons of THEIR generations. Who compares to her in this current generation?Every generation has a couple of icons and Beyonce just so happens to be this generation's.

Her catalogue is very lackluster in terms of being strictly R&B which is going to hurt her legacy for contemporaries. The songs that she is actually singing on, since she gets a lot of flack on here about that, are a bunch of acoustics and of course aren't hits.

I’m not a Beyonce fan but even I can recognize in this day and age, she’s the only living person that does embody what is defined as an icon. When her music comes out, even though it’s not great imo, that doesn’t matter, she has a big enough fan base to make it a big deal. She may not have a diamond album but she does have an impact. Is she at the same height as those that came before her? Not in terms of record sales but she does in exposure. Whenever Beyonce even hints at releasing something, social media explodes and in this day and age, that’s enough.

During Dionne's heyday, a number of different artists covered her music over a two-plus-decade period, which speaks to the massive impact her songs made at the time. Her music was also frequently referenced in movies, tv, and other areas of popular culture. Beyonce simply hasn't made that same impact musically during a similar two-decade period of her recording career.

I was talking about the "Fandom" " Beyhive Movement that started earlier this decade on Social media.

I guess it’s odd to me to pick a specific period of time between two artist from different eras as a metric. Like what is the basis of that specific 20 years? So she was better at the start of her career? That’s an odd superlative and It’s strange in the world of music which is typically judge over a career but
