Hes insecure because his limited offense would make him less relevant today, as well as the softer rules. He would be like Deandre Jordan but a better version

In his defense, alotta these point guards we see scoring alot (exp Steph Curry, IT) wouldnt be nearly as effective in his era
Souped up Rudy Gobert IMO

It would be interesting to see the strategy applied. Obviously, if you have the classic guard driving on a big, someone like Steph might not be as effective (even though hes good at different finishes and releases). On the other hand, If Mutombo was forced to switch onto Curry, Mutombo would not be as effective of a defender either.

Certain players today would be better in 90s, and vice versa, and certain ones would be worse. Some players, mainly your enforcers and your limited mobility post players from the 90s could not play in todays game, thats a fact.

Also, lets not act as if the guys today grew up then, that they wouldn't have played tougher basketball their whole life, thus negating whatever advantage said 90s player thinks they have.

Deandre Jordan is more mobile on defense and more fluid on offense than Mutombo was, in actuality (not saying he's better overall).
Then Deandre just must be dumb because I watched my MT. Mutumbo at the twilight of his career and he still got to his spots on defense and challenge shots whereas Deandre be late on his rotations and to where he suppose to be. Doesn't make sense if Jordan is more agile and athletic than Mutumbo.
