Did those who didn't like it, dislike it because it's a bad movie or because you didn't agree with the choices they made for the characters?
Because it's far from a bad movie. Attack of the Clones is a bad movie.
I should have asked that question too
It’s a bad movie , poorly edited and scripted

This was an absolutely horrible movie that gets worse the more I think about it. Long list of reasons incoming.

It violates multiple basic principles of fiction storytelling. It fails to establish who the central character is, not giving any real priority to any one lead in particular. It throws away/retcons what happened in the previous 7 films so carelessly and with such arrogance that you’d think this is a resident evil or transformers movie, spends the whole run time shytting on the previous films and characters, has a side plot that’s complete filler that takes up a third of the movie, disregards all character arcs, nothing any character does in this film really matters since everyone is basically exactly where they were at the start of the film, the tone is all over the place, there’s numerous characters who don’t feel like they belong in a Star Wars movie, there’s countless Chekhov’s gun violations and it’s inverse (a payoff moment that had no setup), it disregards previous rules about light speed travel and suddenly Leia can survive being blown into space, Luke is suddenly a bitter old man who wanted to kill his nephew because he thought he may be evil (the same guy who saw the good in darth Vader of all people), weapons are mysteriously edited out of the hands of the guards in the big fight scene in the movie, the villains are all painted to be bumbling idiots, several characters are written to be so thoroughly pointless that you could cut them from the film and nothing about the narrative would change, it doesn’t even adhere to the three act structure, and it ends on a terrible cliffhanger with a tone that makes no sense while setting up nothing for the sequel. It’s every bit as poorly written as anything in the phantom menace or attack of the clones, and that includes the romance plot in clones. At least the phantom menace had to silver linings between the score and the pod race. This movie’s only redeeming quality is the visual effects. The only people I’ve seen produce content that so clearly expressed such contempt for its intended audience are Vince & Stephanie McMahon and their aide Kevin Dunn.

If you’ve never seen a Star Wars movie, it’s not terrible. But a lot of shyt happens for the sake of it happening. I’ll breakdown my biggest 4 issues.

1) Rey has been handled poorly. I’m cool with her being the chosen one, but with no training, she beat the other chosen 1 (Kylo) the first time she picked up a lightsaber. Then the next movie she whoops Luke’s ass and Snoke’s bodyguards. Anikan was the chosen 1, had skills that rivaled Yoda, and lost an arm when he fought someone more experienced with 10 years of training. Lost 3 limbs when he fought Obi-Wan. Luke lost his arm when he fought Vader and had to tap the dark side to win in episode 6. Rey can be the chosen 1 and a force prodigy, but you can’t just master lightsaber fighting off of touching 1 and an afternoon of practice.

2) I would have preferred Luke be on some John Wick shyt, but that’s neither here nor there. Mark Hamill isn’t a particularly strong actor, so I couldn’t tell what they were doing with him 1/2 the time. The tossing away of the lightsaber and milking scenes looked like outtakes from the gag reel. Rial Johnson couldn’t decide if he wanted Luke to be a world worn hermit or eccentric old person, so we wound up with him basically acting how Yoda did when he was testing him on Dagoba. And I didn’t appreciate the tease of the X-Wing. And it really felt like his sacrifice was for nothing.

3) Princess Leia’s Force flight.

4) The entire casino planet sub plot. It didn’t add anything to the movie. It may become important for episode 9, but it was a 35 minute excursion out of the plot. And given the ship situation, how did they go there and back and board the ship. And the random dude in the cell just happens to be a code breaker.

Didn't like it and I don't know anyone IRL that like it either. It's trash also from the feedback I read from the forums I visit.

But it made a ton of money and at the end of the day, that's all that matters to the studio. :snoop:
I know a lot of people that liked it. Coli really the only place I seen otherwise. Strangers I've met at different conventions and stuff have differing opinions.

Including what exactly? I can understand somebody saying they didn't like that it was a long chase or they don't find Canto Bight interesting, but as for the decision to kill Snoke, or Luke dying, or Rey having nobody parents, it happened. It's not up to me I can only accept it and judge it after I accept it. And each time I've watched it I have loved their choices even more. Where as some people were disappointed with Luke, I saw his ending as the most badass jedi shyt ever.

I'm not in here to argue just clarity

Luke trolling Ren so everyone can escape is better than an actual lightsaber fight to the death (he died anyway).

Your post is "badass" in the same context you use it in your post.:snoop:

Nobody that liked it posting in here?
I grew up idolizing Star Wars as a whole. From the games I played outside to the games I'd play inside and video games. The movies. Stories I'd write. Star Wars has always been everything to me. When I walked out the theater I loved it. When I watched it a few more times it became my personal favorite. It just expanded ideas I had back then. I always wondered if Jedi could do what Leia did. I still believe that's only the tip of the iceberg. Yoda making the lightning strike the tree. A villain that is everything I wished Anakin was in the prequels. A new hero character that could carry the torch after Luke. But that's all personal stuff. I for real used to wonder about kamikaze the ships into each other we'd try that in Battlefront 2 on ps2 lol

I could go on a screaming rant about WHY this movie sucked so badly...:bryan: but I'd rather just sit back and watch this movie constantly gets ripped to shreds by the fans of the series...:lolbron:

And trust me I was in that Star Wars thread screaming at the top of my lungs saying how much it sucked... :picard: So many failed expectations. So much potential fukking squandered by RJ and Kathleen Kennedy which needs to be fired... just give it to JJ...:PantherBless2:

I’m an old head grew up loving all of them including the prequels. Star Wars is dead to me. I didn’t even make it to TLJ. I didn’t need to to see where it was going.

I thought it was better than Force Awakens tbh. It has its problems but I like that Kylo Ren took over and killed Snoke which I felt was going to be a retread of the Vader/Sidious relationship.
Yeah that shyt was hard I went crazy in my seat when Snoke got killed. When Finn smacks Phasma I was like "fukk that bytch!"

It's a trip how people who love it wanted to see it go different directions. That's what's causing the real division imo not so much the quality of the films
