I had this conversation last night while watching the Super Bowl and the "Fast and Furious 6" trailer came on. A friend of mine said that Rock and Vin should of been the Arnold and Sly Stallone of this era. I thought about it and it's true. WTF Happen? They both started doing some terrible kids movies. This year it seems both of them are finally taking the Action Crown but it only happen once Sly and Arnold's old a$$e$ came out of retirement and are back on the Big Screen. So my question is should The Rock and Vin have done MORE action in the last decade?:

They don't make the kind of movies like they did in the 80s much anymore :to:

If they do then they generally dont make a lot (besides Expendables and mayeb Fast and Furious series)

Arnold and Stallone's new movies that came out in the past month bombed. Reviews from fans generally werent bad either.

I dont think Rock and Vin dropped the ball, they just didnt get the same opportunities.

movies in the 80's and 90's were coming out like hotcakes. Action movies especially. There was less risk involved back then it seemed. Alot of movies flopped and alot did well.

And Stallone made plenty of movies like"Stop or my Mom will shoot" and Arnold had a couple of kids movies too.

But if you look at when they 1st dropped. Vin was setting up to be the KING OF ACTION after "Fast and Furious, XXX" and The Rock did "The Mummy 2, Scorpion King" this was in the early 2000's so Hollywood was setting them both up to be the Next Big Action Stars. Then Vin Left both of his franchises and The Rock again started doing more kids movies. As for Stallone and Arnold's new movies flopping, that is kinda expected, they are both at the end of their careers. But the "Expendables" series are both Hit Movies.

I got no prob with Vin or Rock and would love to see them do more straight up action. Hopefully Riddikk will be :krs: and Rock can do something outside of comedies and Fast 6

It's obvious the Rock had a nice contract with Disney. And Vin Diesel never wanted to be an action star. I'm pretty sure he's turned down script after script of him flexing his muscles, shooting a hundred people and walking away from explosions.

Vin Diesel definitely did. I thought he was going to be the next big thing after the 1st F&F movie. Fast forward a few years and he's starring in The Pacifier :scusthov:
I don't hold The Rock to the same standard cus he's wrestler. The People's Champ is just having fun out there.

The Rock seems to have gotten the message after "Fast Five". His next few movies are Action based. He's even headlining the G.I. Joe Sequel:

I think some of the blame has to go to THE MATRIX cause after that movie making Keanu an Action Star it seemed it was the end of the "Muscle" Action stars for the "Regular Guy" Action Stars.
