overachieved

They could've easily went 1 for 3 in their finals run instead of 2 for 3.

Exceeded!!
I expected one, but to back-to-back? Getting to the Finals 3 straight times?

With accomplishments like that, you have to start putting them up there with some of the greatest runs of all time. What other teams have done anything similar?

Old School Minny Lakers and Celtics
80s Lakers
80s Celtics (didn't go back to back tho)
Bad Boy Pistons
Bulls
93-95 Rockets
Kobe/Shaq Lakers
Duncan Prime Era Spurs (never went back to back)

Shouldn't the Kobe-led Lakers be included on this list? It'll be interesting to see how we'll remember this team.

Pretty sure this was their last run. I would say they met expectations, overachieving would have been winning that third one IMO.

Bynum was hurt during all of the finals they played in

Pau Gasol was in the league for 7 years before teaming with kobe, during those 7 years he won zero playoff games and made one all star team. kobe made him look better than he was and people have gotten carried away with the pau praise.

i don't see how anyone could say that they under achieved

Pau was a great player before going to the Lakers, he only made one all star team because the Grizz usually were trash.

Kobe wasn't getting out the 1st round for several years before Gasol got there

A teams performance has jack shyt to do with a player making the all star team. LOTS of players have been made all stars while playing for garbage teams.

Just this year Kevin Love, Deron Williams, and Steve Nash made the all star game despite them playing on bad teams.

they had the most talented roster after the Gasol trade and they won 2 titles accordingly... no way you can say they overachieved, they did what they were supposed to

I don't really see how you can say they underachieved either, they won the titles when they were supposed to... once they no longer had the most talented roster in the NBA, they struggled in the playoffs the last few years... expecting LA to beat teams better than them is unrealistic
