Breeding existed in the sense that slaveholders tried to make their female slaves have as many children as possible. The whole "slavery made AAs strong and athletic" thing isn't correct. It takes thousands of years for that kind of evolution to take place in humans. African Africans have the same athleticism as West Africans.
