Desus was definitely funny, yall capping. Mero was just a sidekick basically but Desus back in the early days (2010-2013) of Twitter, Complex (or even earlier, Okayplayer boards) was funny as hell. He just got neutered when Hollywood types actually started fukking with them so they couldn't go as hard as they used to on celebrities and public figures and didn't know how to make more serious content/interviews.
Desus transitioned from a funny dude on Twitter to actual (somewhat) mainstream success. There's 10,000 funny brehs on twitter right now dying to be the next Desus. That lane is pretty much dead now. Gotta go the youtube/twitch route

man, stop. tariq lit mero the fukk up in that twitter exchange they had, exposing him to everyone. they were never the same after that happened, because they lost credibility. black people stopped fukking with them.
Showtime killed the momentum completely. Trying to recreate something so natural in that situation was impossible. At least they made money there.

There’s plenty of people who ‘aren’t funny’ who leverage themself into making money and hosting shows for decades. Also ‘funny’ is relative. Theres folk who may not find cam and mase funny. Or Gillie and Wallo, or queenslip, or Akademiks, or Charlemagne. Etc. You can’t please everyone nor do you have to.
