The only first ballot guy on this list is Vinatieri. Manning, Keuchly, Suggs, Staley and Lynch are in the next tier, should get in eventually. Earl Thomas, Aqib Talib and Darren Sproles are super marginal, probably really shouldn't be in but can maybe squeak in on a weak year. Wake, Davis and Demaryius should never be in.
I think it's pretty much a lock that Keuchly gets in first ballot now that Willis is in since they've have pretty much similar careers(5 1st team all-pro years, 7 pro bowls) but Keuchly got the DPoTY to trump him. In addition, next year is a pretty weak year. Going forward you've got a bunch of locks(Drew Brees, AP, Gronk, Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, JJ Watt)

NFL HOF going down the road of the NBA HOF.

Hester, Mongo and Freeney are curious choices.

It is odd to me that Hester is going in. Not saying he doesn't deserve it, but to celebrate somebody for something that the NFL is essentially trying to remove from the game seems a little weird to me.

I mean he's the best returner I've ever seen... makes sense to commemorate that with a HoF nod. You're right though, the NFL legislated the return game out so we won't see a guy like that ever again

ITS THE PRO FOOTBALL HOF
NOT THE NFL HOF.

NFL GETTING RID OF KR
HAS NO BEARING ON THE PRO FOOTBALL HOF.

Shocked that Gates did not make the cut.
I thought he was a guaranteed 1st ballot HOF'er. I mean every time he caught the ball on damn near every broadcast they said he played basketball and was a future Hof'er. With that said Phillip Rivers better not make it on the 1st ballot either with his inflated padded azz stats.
