He always threw a game sealing interception. I was a charger fan and watched almost every snap Rivers took. He was very avg. His stats don't tell the story. I watched a game where he had damn near 500 yds passing and they lost. A lot of qbs have big numbers now because that's the game now Phillip Rivers never led the Chargers no where. When the team was stacked in rhe mid 2000s. He was the weak link. When it became his team once LT left they almost never even made the playoffs. Such an overrated player. Eli Manning got 2 rings Ben Roethlisberger got 2 rings Rivers has a division title

He didn't change the game. That should be the litmus test for the hall of fame. If Philip Rivers never existed, the game wouldn't be any different. He has no rings, no real records, no real impact on the game. All his stats are longevity based. He was a pretty good QB who hung around for a while. That can't be HoF worthy.

Vinatieri is looking like the only first ballot lock, imo.
Suggs, Kuechly, Staley, Eli will get in afterward.
Gates should get in next year, Might also be the year Torry H0lt can sneak in.
