I'm not sitting here saying he's criminally guilty or anything like that. Even with him settling, the NFL can and will lay the hammer down.

Hasn't Congress been threatening to take away certain protections the NFL has? The NFL isn't going to want to drop the ball on this and come across as being "soft".
On ESPN's Keyshawn, JWill and Max, via Cleveland.com, Dan Graziano said there are "continued negotiations" for a settlement. According to the NFL insider, the league has "insisted" on an indefinite suspension to protect against any new information coming to light.

While the NFL was reportedly willing to make him eligible to re-apply after 12 games, rather than a full season, Watson and the NFLPA doesn't want to accept an indefinite suspension.

Onlookers are attempting to analyze the meaning behind these discussions. The league might not be confident in the impartial judge's pending ruling if attempting to settle below its original request.

If the NFL would consider a 12-game suspension, there's a solid chance the league expects a lighter penalty from Robinson. At least, that's how the situation looks in light of Graziano's reporting.

One way or another, a decision should arrive within a week or two.

Did you read what was said? It said the NFL would let him reapply after 12 games, not that they would automatically let him back.

If it's 12 games, I'd be surprised, but if I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
:jbhmm:

He's likely not playing this season.

Even if he settles or wins his civil cases, Goodell is going to lay down the hammer.

Josina Anderson has always gotten her info from the players themselves, so that definitely came from Watson's camp. The NFL obviously believed that some of the stories were iffy hence why they specifically focused on 5 of them during their hearing.

And now apparently they rejected one of them.

Apparently the 5th accuser went off just a media report? I'm interested to hear more.

I’m now wondering if that’s one of Buzbee’s clients as well. It also means that the league didn’t do proper vetting when questioning the accusers if the judge threw one out.
