When has the NFL been consistent with precedent? They suspended Brady for what had been a 25k fine in other incidents.

Ben got 6 games because of a similar situation like this. Why would you think that Watson is getting any less based on the number of accusers? Remember the basis has already been set that they can levy punishment on you even if you weren’t charged or convicted of a crime. So solving the civil suits essentially mean nothing in that aspect.

Also don’t forget that the narrative is out there that the NFL doesn't care about violence against women based on previous situations. In this age and climate, the NFL is not trying to deal with the PR nightmare and fallout of women feeling like they went lightly on his punishment. Also don't forget that a few of his accusers have already spoken to the NFL, so the civil suit will change nothing in that aspect.

Goodell levies the punishment and is over the appeals process. You can thank the NFLPA for that one.

Yeah that’s my main concern that football is the last thing on his mind and he may have slipped in his training or maybe he totally immersed himself into to and he will come back even better:yeshrug:

If he's able to walk away from this with just paying it off, a tarnished image and a few games suspension to resume his career at some point it's a big win.

Hope he learned his lesson. Certain levels you reach in life you have to control yourself and minimize the fukkery. I like the kid but no matter what his stans say THIS WAS NOT about massages. I believe there was some inappropriate behavior during these sessions like exposing himself and maybe masturbated but I don’t believe the whole “he forced me to perform oral sex” that was in one of the claims

Honestly, it sounds like dude has/had a fetish for inappropriate conduct with his massage therapist.

It would help explain the sheer number of clients that he had been to over the years as even one of the women who defended him mentioned how weird it was that he had done so.

I never said he’s getting less than 6. I said he will get suspended half the season and then appeal it down. I just said precedent means nothing with the NFL. Goodell reacts to outside pressure and pressure from owners.

To date, we know he's seen AT LEAST 42 different massage therapists during that time period.
  • The 23 that accused him of inapropriate behavior and were suing him
  • 1 from the si.com article who said he did the same to her (exposed himself, ejaculated on the table) but was NOT suing and just declined to massage him again.
  • Another 18 who he said massaged him and are ready to testify that he did not do anything inappropriate.
Again, those are the ones we know if thus far. Giving that many different people access to you with all this money you banking is a dangerous game.

He can appeal it all he wants, but the person levying the suspension will be the one listening to the appeal.

It also wouldn't be good optics for him to try and appeal it based on the circumstances of why he got suspended in the first place. He's going to have to eat whatever suspension he gets and I believe others will tell him to do the same.

You put a few of them on retainer (as other athletes likely do) and bring them in as needed. There's still been no plausible explanation as to why dude needed that sheer number of massage therapists. The one excuse that people used for his innocence can arguably now be used against him as to why some of the claims actually have merit.

If he ends up on the commissioner's exempt list, then league is going to sit him out (with pay, but still games missed) until they render their decision and then levy the actual suspension against him. They essentially did AB the same way before they finally gave him the 8 game suspsension.
