I don't get what gets UT fans excited about Gruden though

it's a blockbuster hire, nothing more nothing less

Personally, I think that the AD is going to get in a bidding war with The Ville for Strong.

If they did hire Gruden he wouldn't necessarily have to quit MNF ont he spot. He could still finish out that season and bounce.

And the boosters are going to front the cash. Too much in Knoxville depends on the state of the program. Everyone is losing money there, they need to team to fill all 102,000+ seats, get in the business around there and spend money.

There's no money in losing.

I can't believe that they have the $$$ to front DD buyout and a guaranteed contract at 5 million plus for 5-6 years.

Unless Gruden gets hired we will never know.
