Unless the coach has North Carolina ties and has been successful (Mack Brown, Roy Williams), they aren't going to pay up for a coach. North Carolina has a history throughout all of their sports of either promoting assistant coaches or hiring up and coming mid major coaches.

It’s not about UNC it’s about Mack. When he came back to UNC they thought they were getting the old Mack back but instead got washed forced outta Texas Mack.

The hype surrounding his comeback was crazy here. You must not have been paying attention. He’s had several seasons since being back where they ended the season on losing streaks falling apart after 4-5 games. Then losing the bowl games they go to. Yeah he was done. They could get any old cac to go 6-5, 8-4 in the weak ass ACC.

Not crazy enough to contact him. He got it good at SMU 2.0 where they can legally do what they was trying to do back in the Pony Express days. He leaves SMU for a gig like LSU or Bama.

The Tulane coach and the Georgia DC have been the main names that I have heard. What we have in our favor is that as of now, the UNC job is the best one available. That would have been questionable if some other schools didn't turn things around, like Florida.
