I think this, contact and interstellar all suffer from the same over dramatic tone but imo, neither of them deliver the knock out blow. contact she meets an alien in the form of her dead dad

And this movie just goes the extra length to put you front and center for a revelation of the ages but really just leaves u wanting more, at least I did. I'm really not sure what I just watched. and I haven't seen anyone in this thread break it down.

I agree...but as far as being explained we have discussed at length what happened...for some in here it was satisfactory . ...but for some of us it was it left too many questions and convenience moments

To be fair good cinemas that show other then blockbusters are precisely one in my entire country so I'm not shocked you've seen stuff I won't be able to until some time next year, if I'm lucky.

There us no way at our de-evolved state we could possibly comprehend the high level of thinking it would require to effortlessly communicate that way.

Its literally impossible for any creature to do what they said this language would do. You would have to be in a pocket universe like interstellar to do what this language would do or become a god unbound by time or space. A language can't do that.

And another thing that annoyed me was the whole premise that humans would need to figure out how to communicate with advanced beings.. Wouldn't the advanced beings be able to figure out our primitive language faster than we would theirs? Not necessarily.
We know dolphins communicate with each other and in a very coplex manner. We humans can't even decipher that they have what we would call a language though.

That said we have thought chimps how to communicate with humans using sign language, so it could go both ways

Humans study dolphins.. they dont study our communication lol.. You wouldn't expect the dolphins to learn english and communicate with us. that's my point. The advanced species would be the one deciphering and figuring out how to communicate with the lessor species.

I understand dolphins don't study us, but my point is that as advanced as we are, we can't teach dolphins or language, and we can't figure out if they even have a language, even though we know they communicate with each other, but on the flip side, we have found it easier to teach apes and chimps our own language "sign language" so that they can communicate with us, which sort of falls in line with what hte aliens in this movie did.
