I didn't misrepresent anything, you simply read through too quickly or you are showing a lack of reading comprehension.
As for the scientific analysis, my point is that what this movie portrays in language is beyond the realm of science and actually in the realm of the supernatural and mystic.

Again, that's why it's called science fiction.

All of them earth languages. Meanwhile:

the language in the movie is an alien language given to us by interdimensional aliens who exist/can see 3000 years into the future as well as achieve intergalactic space travel and numerous other feats that humanity isn't capable of at this time either.:skip:

yet
Its still a language which means it possess for humans only the ability to transfer of ideas period. If they were going to say the very nature of the language is to create in humanity super humans then they should have hinted more at, that they didn't even do this and just throw it at the end with no build up is what leads me to call it a deus ex machima

Having someone awaken their "3rd eye" does not make them superhuman or a god. They even said it specifically that how they communicate is on another level to that we typically communicate. You HAVE to evolve to that way of thinking to even understand their language in the context. And she was able to....

3rd eye isn't scientific, it is literally a mystical term. So if you claim to be realistic or sci-fi, but you have mysticism powers you are fantasy and they should have done more to build the fantasy aspect to make it more palatable to accept in the context of the movie than what they did.

I dont have to evolve a way of thinking to understand what language is, and if you think wht this movie is saying is even possible in reality that says more about you than me not understanding the movie.

I still think its overlooked that the aliens were able to create the circles at will by projections....a human would still need to write it down starting at a beginning point and then finishing the circle to end.....this contradicts the idea of their language.......even if we did know the language we could not express it.....plot hole

The more you think about it the more its easier to pick it apart, which shows the weaknesses of the plot and how the movie is really a first experience movie.

I'd say unbreakable and sixth sense perfect this type of movie, where atleast prime M KNight lets you see hints during the movie that provides consistant universe interprettions of events on 2nd viewing, this just falls apart IMHO

I agree about unbreakable..they did an excellent job with the story...I cringed when Jeremy Renner said "Are you dreaming in their language"...Even if it was a dream it was implied for the audience...I was like "cmon man...."

Good movie tho...

Except that they invented technology to write it for them. But more importantly:

Through the psychic link with the aliens Louise was able to use the language from her very mind. Which, again, serves as a reminder that she is the sole person on earth who has a deep enough understanding of the language to express it at this time. And again, the purpose of giving us the language was that it was necessary for humanity to evolve for a goal 3000 years into the future. This was never intended to change the fabric of humanity overnight. It was meant to unite us so from there we could evolve faster. It's possible that we wouldn't even be able to fully adapt the language until the next millennium.

Except this movie does the exact same thing. You just refuse to accept the high concept the movie is build around as a legit concept so you ignore all of the hints it clearly presents to us. :francis:

Actually it doesn't, it takes our expectations of genre cliches and uses them against us, it doesn't actually plant clues in the movie of anything. As for the language issue, again that is so divorced for being reasonable that its just a means for an end for a twist

I want to really like this movie but it didn't do it for me like i thought it might..not too sure what I missed but it's just one of those flicks that either has to be seen multiple times or just once depending on your patience and expectations.

Amy Adams does a decent job but she is boring most of the time, no personality with any of the characters. absolutely no humor or very subtle humor which isn't necessary but can be a nice added touch to these over serious films.

But then again most people are loving it so what do I know. :manny:
