I feel ya on this... Let me be clear...... Maybe I should have explicitly stated a black center would not be allowed to play like Jokic. I thought it was implied
The reason Jokic is allowed to play the way he does is NOT because he is White. It's because he is Euro. He grew up in a culture where team basketball is emphasized unlike the American AAU system that caters to 1 on 1 skills. In Europe, they work on developing fundamental skill like passing. Jokic was allowed to play in the high post and given the opportunity to make reads like a Quarterback and pass 100 times a game. They would never allow an American Big in AAU to play like that. His ass better either stay in the post or take 3's. The Center ain't allowed to hold the ball in AAU.

I made the comparison of how the media treats Boogie's D versus Jokic D and even I think Boogie is bugging with this lol. He ain't near what Jokic is. Boogie was a great post player with some nice passing skills. Jokic is an entire offense on his own the likes of which we've rarely ever seen. No comparison.

To be fair, he had 3 of those when playing with AD that second season (before he went down with the Achilles). He was averaging over 5apg. Also, he’s not gonna be the primary playmaker when they had Rondo. He was in his 8th season and never had another one again after that injury. There’s no telling how many he would’ve ended up with had he not gotten hurt. I’m sure he would’ve passed up Gasol, KG, and probably Webber and Kareem as well.
I’m not judging skills, just saying that there’s been big guys with a bag and the new guys with a bag are far from similar, stat wise.

Being good and being the first are different things

Oh yeah, he definitely wasn’t the first.

This post is why we can't have serious sports convos on here. Look at this post.

You’re the one not being serious. The point stands. You called Magic a unicorn, but we’ve had Penny and Lebron since… Riddle me this if you can, what part of my post makes it unserious?

The NBA is mostly American… and evidently you missed the edit where I added American black center. You would think this would be implied… but I forget how :mjpls: this site really is

You said a player that plays nothing like Jokic.

And Dirk came into the league when KG was an all star player and Chris Webber was an all star player. Bringing up Dirk was unserious.

When Magic entered the league in 1979, he was a unicorn. Even with LeBron and Penny, he is still a unicorn compared to them.

Dirk was a one way offensive player at 7 feet tall that was labeled as soft, but was allowed to play his perimeter and mid range game… Name another 7 foot nikka that was allowed to play like Dirk….at small forward on top of it.

Cousins was a ball stopper, his style disrupted offensive flow. He was obviously super talented, but I hated his style of play. Its not like Jokic at all
