It's nice to hear this coming from Spike instead of Stephen A's usual gloom and doom bullshyt.

They got Jalen. Trading for Mitchell would have been more like a bonus.
It’s fake.

Of all the players in the Unicorn mold, Victor is the only one that has more potential than KP did pre-injury imo( He's probably rawer than KP was coming into the NBA though).

Trade Evan, Randle and Rose and develop our younger players, and record-wise let the chips fall where they may. Call it a tank or whatever, I'm just hoping it leads to Victor somehow.

Randle is trash and holding back Toppin, Brunson coming here was just a bag for his pops and agent. RJ and Mitch Robinson I fukk with. DonovanMitchell is also mid im glad we didnt get him.

Id rather see them bench Randle and just play RJ, Mitch and all the young dudes. but Thibs is short term thinking about his job and is attached to Randle

We’re still too good. With Jalen and RJ we’d at worst be in the 10-12 pick range again.

Based on the reported final offer the Cavs had the better deal.

One of the main reasons is that Sexton>RJ. He has been a better player throughout both their careers and is a lot cheaper.

$72M vs. $107M. I bet the Jazz, Ainge, Snyder think they can make Sexton into a Mitchell-lite type player. They gonna look to stockpile picks while still remaining competitive.

Markannen is also 25 and on a team friendly/movable deal which makes him younger and slightly cheaper than Fournier.

Breh I'm pretty cynical and I wouldn't even say Sexton>RJ. Sexton has RJ beat as a scorer kind of( he's still inefficient as hell though), but RJ beats him in every other category. Ainge does have a good chance in duping another team to take Sexton though if that's his plan.

I'd say Markennen is the best player in that deal.

Sexton ain't inefficient...he is a ball hog/ball stopper though. Sexton has RJ beat as a scorer by a nice margin and RJ isn't good/impactful enough in other facets of the game to overcome that.

Sexton has a career 55% TS to RJ's 51% TS which is a sizable gap in efficiency. Sexton's efficiency is around league average/good for a high volume scorer while RJ's efficiency is poor. The Jazz have been a heavy analytics front office and they are running all types of cost analysis. $72M vs. $107M for a player analytics favor entirely over the other is an easy choice for them without getting into the other particulars of the deal.
