Sexton ain't inefficient...he is a ball hog/ball stopper though. Sexton has RJ beat as a scorer and RJ isn't good/impactful enough in other facets of the game to overcome that.

Sexton has a career 55% TS to RJ's 51% TS which is a sizable gap in efficiency. Sexton's efficiency is around league average/good for a high volume scorer while RJ's efficiency is poor. The Jazz have been a heavy analytics front office and they are running all types of cost analysis. $72M vs. $107M for a player analytics favor entirely over the other is an easy choice for them.
no one cares about that. heres how off base you are. you mentioned quin snyder when he resigned and they have an entirely new coach.
no gm with 2 brain cells would value collin off an acl tear over rj. danny just didnt want to work with the knicks. has absolutely nothing to do with value...cause our first offer just tossing dudes out there like some thots was better than anything they received.
sorry to break it to you but theres more to the game of basketball than true shooting and analytics will tell you that :mjlol:
anyone with two eyeballs can tell colin isnt a winning basketball player and he'll be the tank commander for them out there while putting up empty numbers with a fluffed up usage on a terrible team

his contract is a means to hit the cap floor for the next few years while they field a trash team. same for lauri.
the players in the deal were inconsequential, it was the picks and swaps he was after and if he could get that from a team thats not the knicks he would do that out of spite.
lauri was disposable, colin was too... and the cavs draft pick this year was purely collateral to get it done
if you would take that over rj, iq, mitchell you're a liar :mjlol:

Well, Sexton at $72 vs. RJ at likely $180

and OKC showed all y'all last year that there's no real punishment for not hitting the salary floor.

That first loaded offer at the beginning of negotiations of RJ, IQ, Robinson was what the Jazz wanted and the Knicks are the ones that turned that down I just saw that reported a few days ago. There's so many reports coming out that it's hard to keep up and shyt is getting confused.

I'd be willing to bet that the Jazz after these trades will still manage to win about as many games as we will with the so-called "tank commander". I'd pencil them in for 35-40 wins this upcoming season. I also don't believe that the Jazz didn't give a fukk about the players at all and only the picks mattered.

The Jazz favored Sexton, the better, and cheaper player over RJ as the player centerpiece of the deal.

the Mitchell Robinson part is such ducktales. So Ainge wanted to sign Robinson, then trade for Walker Kessler all while hoping they’re bad enough to draft Wembanyama? That’s a bad plan.

Based on the reported final offer the Cavs had the better deal.

One of the main reasons is that Sexton>RJ. He has been a better player throughout both their careers and is a lot cheaper.

$72M vs. $107M. I bet the Jazz, Ainge, Snyder think they can make Sexton into a Mitchell-lite type player. They gonna look to stockpile picks while still remaining competitive.

Markannen is also 25 and on a team friendly/movable deal which makes him younger and slightly cheaper than Fournier.

You’re unbearable

I tried to cherry pick the stats for RJ and his TS was just terrible no matter how I filtered his shyt:mjlol:Sexton has the edge as a scorer but being a 6'1"chucker who doesn't facilitate and doesn't play defense puts him in no mans land as a player. He can't affect anybody's shot on the court and teammates have passively complained about his unwillingness to share, and whether you put Sexton at the 1 or the 2 teams have to find a way to cover for his extreme deficiencies. He's not a player I'd want to even have at 10 mil a year because I don't think you can build a winning team with him as one of the focal players. Sexton will most likely be a terrible defender his whole career due to his size, and probably won't evolve enough as a playmaker to make a winning team want to give him meaningful minutes (it'd be some unprecedented shyt if he does). He's destined to be a microwave in short spurts off of the bench or a player who's only good at inflating his value on bad teams. Barrett on the other hand has an actual chance to overcome his deficiencies; he's showed he can be a decent spot up shooter in his second season and he's a league average defender, so the potential for at least being a 3 and D player is there( It's his ability to shoot off of the bounce that's in question). Also, Barrett's facilitates at the level you'd want from a wing player, while Sexton doesn't come close to hitting that level for a guard his size.

Honestly I'm surprised to see you speak so positively of Sexton, because outside of TS, advanced stats don't paint either player in a good light (Barrett might have a slight edge actually), and on some real shyt, IQ is >>>>>>Sexton too.

I don’t like either.

RJ is all potential based on what both have shown Sexton has been the better player. His skill as a microwave scorer for teams project to provide more value over the course of a career than what RJ provides unless he doesn’t drastically improve as a ball handler, shooter, finisher, defender.

I like Quickley over both.

I'mma just put it like this- I think most of us are expecting the Jazz to trade Sexton the moment he can return some good value for them, you think the Jazz would take the same approach with Barrett? That alone should explain the difference in their value as players.
Of course Jazz gonna flip Sexton and Markannen for more picks

RJ name if he is who Knicks fans think he is should have been enough to swing the trade but he didn’t
