The Lakers have a 27' and 29' draft pick. W'Brick getting 40 mil a year. nikka no.He's an expiring contract. Why wouldn't they want him especially if the Lakers offer up those picks to do so. Let's not act like expiring contracts don't have value in this league especially if Russ would agree to a buyout, which he won't nor shouldn't.
And? You find the right team that values those picks and think the Lakers will be shyt and of course you can get a deal done. Again, let’s not act like expiring contracts don’t have value in this league. The Lakers have a 27' and 29' draft pick. Brick getting 40 mil a year. nikka no.

Especially Russ since his salary is so extremely high there aren't many players he could get traded for straight up
Like I'm sure Miami would love to come off of Duncan Robinson's contract but they can't trade him straight for Russ cause Russ makes like 3x more
Trades aren’t made in vacuums. Westbrook isn’t just an expiring. He’s a bad fit on a team with a very short championship window in Lebron who have no way to replace him this year and a very poor way to replace him next summer. Everybody who they negotiate with knows that. I’m buying out his salary so that you can get better the only way you can. That’s gonna have to cost you. He's an expiring contract. He's better than RJ at the 3, plays really good defense and on a cheaper contract.I'd prefer not to do the trade at all at this rate, but I'm really not understanding this need to hold onto Grimes. He's a bench player at most if Mitchell comes to NY
That’s my entire point.Whose trading for him to be a fit for their team and not so they can buy him out and money? Even then, you’d be naive as hell if you think a team wouldnt take on Westbrook if he was bought out and they could get him on a minimum type contract.
He’s another piece in another trade.I'd prefer not to do the trade at all at this rate, but I'm really not understanding this need to hold onto Grimes. He's a bench player at most if Mitchell comes to NY
