You mean the same hypothetical moves y’all are talking about like Mitchell and Thybulle :jbhmm:

Dude likely is a coke head, but I’m sure that the majority of teams in the league would rather have him instead of a coach that flames out everywhere he goes.
Yeah, we’re literally just talking about basketball moves. No one’s complaining or whining except you who went from mad about the potential defense to scoffing at an elite defender who would address the first issue you were complaining about.

And Quinn snyder’s defensive game planning was nothing revolutionary. He had the best defensive center in the league and never figured out how to keep the dude useful in a postseason series. He’s an above average coach, nothing more or less. Def not worth a “if Quinn can’t do it, no one can” cheerleading post :mjlol:

When you have a salary cap and at some point you gonna have to resign a 6’1 volume shooting nut SG at about $250-$300 million it’s not just a “independent acquisition” it’s a MAJOR franchise changing move..

He’s carrying your franchise and now you have very limited ways to build your team around him

Because Hawks didn't trade 4 young prospects along with multiple first rounders.

And because Dejounte Murray is not also a 6'1, half-eaten lollipop dropped on a dirty carpet looking chucker who plays no defense :hubie:
We won’t end up trading 4 young prospects if this happens.

Also again for the second part many people on this forum are disrespecting Mitchell with these comments.

Dejounte Murray has accomplished nothing of note. It’s to be seen if he can even replicate his last season. Last year was his first All-Star game. Has never lead a team to a playoff spot much less balled the fukk out in a playoff series like Mitchell has.

He guarantees nothing for Atlanta and they still aren’t championship contender favorites.

I don’t believe that the Knicks will move all their young guys though. The Randle rumor probably means they’re trying to keep Obi out of the deal at a minimum. The jazz just lost their best shot at leverage in Miami choosing to focus on KD. So I think it’ll be a chunk of picks and one or two prospects. But we gotta wait and see what happens. We’ve prolly got a while before the final offers take shape.

You're totally correct, but he's exactly what they need for a frontcourt running mate that's a defensive liability in Trae Young and help with the ball handling and playmaking.

Murray fits what they needed around Trae(plus defender, secondary ball hander, can score). There's logic behind why they brought him in.

I'd have less issue with Mitchell if they didn't just spend 100M on Brunson. At least at that point you can make the argument that you can try Mitchell at point and keep Barrett at the 2 and not be a completely horrible defensive team.

Mitchell fits what we need.

The Knicks offense has been bottom tier each of the last two seasons while the defense has been top 10.

The Knicks need top flight talent and culture shift.

We are not at Atlanta’s stage of development.

Second part was not about Mitchell but about Trae Young. Murray is completely different profile player than Young, he takes half as many threes as Young, he's 6'4 and he plays defense. He offers something different and will be complementary at least on the defensive end.

Hopefully Knicks and Rose hold steady and let Jazz feel the heat as Spurs tank while Mitchell wins a few games on his own.

Thibs is why the offense sucks :comeon:

It’s not getting better until he is gone
