Grimes was the only name that Shams dropped in his report about the trade discussions. I feel like Grimes/IQ are the most likely to be treated as expendable since Mitchell/Brunson will eat up a lot of the guard minutes.
If we trade Grimes, I have a feeling we're really gonna regret it. He has the potential to develop into a very good two way player

:mjtf: I’m not the one who brought them up. They didn’t even make my list.

Yeah they’re short there will be issues on defense that’s obvious it’s going to have to be schemed for it’s possible they’d be really good on offense though for sure. The Knicks would still be a better team for it.

Don’t really know what y’all want nikkas talking on some championship or bust shyt :mjlol:

The whole small backcourts can’t win shyt isn’t based in anything saying oh C.J. and Lillard never won so it doesn’t work is pure nonsense.
It's not nonsense to say that you have to go back to the 80s to find a championship guard combo where both were smaller than 6'3

He thinks there’s nothing wrong with Mitchell being 6’1 and Brunson being 6’1 with both contracts combined being almost $300 million

Mitchell plays big but so what he’s still 6’1

Knicks have to be very very careful here

Danny Ainge wins EVERY TRADE..

I feel like Grimes and Duece would be the better offer because IQ can also play the 2. Hunt, Keels can cover the 3 for the RJ fans.

You can now play IQ at the 1 off the bench or move him to 2 and Mitchell at 1.
I really don’t know how you justify letting go of a guard with a specific skill set and size like that in this NBA :francis:

Give them nikkas one or two of our other bums. No way you keep IQ over Grimes if you have a choice.

I think it's a bit of a toss-up. IQ's ability to pull-up from ridiculous ranges is unreachable. But Grimes has stopper potential and flashed more playmaking than I'd projected on him in this summer league. The Knicks need to keep one of them for sure, but I don't think it'll be possible to keep both if they move for Mitchell. I'm not sure who I'd prefer to send off tbh.

Grimes is probably more enticing for Utah because he has an extra year of contract control for Ainge.

Ya’ll acting like we have any influence over this trade. This FO doesn’t give a fukk what the fans think, or media pressure. Everyone saying “don’t do it” doesn’t matter because they actively don’t give a fukk.
Yeah, it there's one thing we can count on, it's that the FO dgaf about fan reaction. They usually make moves with three other paths planned and I guess they just get by on a "they'll understand later" mentality.

His ceiling is soooo much higher than his draft slot suggests.

It’s not the same though.

We have two 25 year old guys as long as we don’t get absolutely raped in his deal they’ll have something around them.
Nope totally comparable to having head case Starbury and trading for a washed Steve Francis :aicmon:

That model requires us pulling off a Kawhi trade or RJ Barrett being about 10,000 times better than you project him to be.
Maybe, maybe not
Imo Brunson and Mitchell are better then FVV and Lowry were at that point

Mitchell, yes. Brunson isn’t better than those two players were at that point and I’ve never been high on Lowry like other people have.
