I like all these moving players for TPE scenarios to offload vets, open up roster spots and using the picks to sweeten the deal.

But I hope that means committing to Mitch and Sims, not just signing another vet in Noel's place.
Whatever vet we sign won’t be for much. I think after brunson we’d only have the mid level 5.4 million. Unless i guess they trade both burks and nerlens and create 9 or so million. I’d take Bamba on a 1+1 for that…

what’s the cap total if they move Burks, Noel, and Rose?

Burks with multiple suitors could mean we move him for a light return. I think rose would also be a positive asset even with his injuries. Suddenly the Knicks could be sitting on a few TPE’s, close to 40 million in cap space, and a couple more assets…maybe a protected first rose and a couple more seconds for Burks.

I think that’s a best-scenario that falls closer to reality than most of what we pine for. The dreaming part comes with what we’d use all that extra cap and picks for.

Edit: and I include rose bc Brunson signing would render him expendable.

Around 24-26 million after signing brunson.

If it’s us, it’s probably Obi they’re offering.

I was hearing D gawd was gonnabe another major reason Brunson signs

But I agree breehs, surely he is gone if that happens

Iq, Mcbride Brunson, plus all the other guards, including Fournier and grimes, etc

:jbhmm:

Knowing Leon and Thibs, they'd do right by DRose and send him to a contender. If the Knicks really were offering the Spurs for Murray, I could see IQ being the young player in the deal though with Rose sticking around to mentor the new addition.

The most telling sign when acquiring a player from another team is how the fan base reacts to losing that player and Mavs fans do not seem happy about the prospect of losing Brunson.
At the same time, it seems like the knicks are the only team interested in him, It makes sense for the mavs not wanting ti lose anyone when they got to the western finals. Wouldn't more teams be fishing for Brunson if he was really that guy? It seems like it's just a mavs and knicks race

How many teams have cap space? Brunson is young, played well in the playoffs, seems to be on the upswing and is in a position of desperate need for the Knicks. It's obvious why the Knicks are going so hard after him - and it's not like the Mavs can just let him walk for nothing cause they can't replace him.

It certainly sounds like there will be corresponding moves if/when Brunson is signed(bundling a bunch of the firsts they have plus one or two of the young guys for a player).

The teams with cap space are Us, Detroit, Charlotte and SA. The last two are set at pg and Detroit was interested before drafting Ivey. We’re also bidding against the Mavs.
