Barrett has to improve as a shooter and we'd need a genuine stretch 4. Barrett, Brunson and Murray can all facilitate, meaning we'd be taking the ball out of Randle's hand and he wouldn't get a chance to be effective as he can be. We'd have to either trade Randle and either get a stretch 4 back, or use it as a salary dump and sign one next year.

What stretch 4s would yall be interested in? Cam Johnson?

Just racking my brain, the stretch 4s i could think of that MIGHT be available are PJ Washington and Kevin Love. Both would be really hard to trade for. Maybe Gordon Hayward? I really don’t see us coming off Randle. Our team identity would just have to be to run.

Cam Johnson is nice, he’s one of these modern 4s that are valuable

Don’t see the suns giving him up unless their owner is being cheap

Edit: actually if our other moves come through, I could see us offering them Burks or rose for him

I don't really see it as hurting unless they have to give up a lot to move off Burks or Noel to complete the signing. They swapped late-firsts and moved off 4 second-rounders to dump Kemba. But his contract was the least valuable of the bunch, so I'm hoping the other two are cheap to give away or maybe even bring something back in Burks' case.

The main reason I think they're pushing for Brunson is because it preserves all the picks and youths to make a second move. Here's the first Murray rumor popping up. I really don't think NY's done dealing.

If Gallo and some Hawks picks can get Murray, then the Knicks actually should be on the phone to see if they can get involved. This shouldn't be surprising and it'd be bad if they weren't trying.

Absolutely, but if it makes the Hawks spend more to pair Murray and Young, that's mission accomplished. The Knicks oughtta be setting a bottom option for all these cats until they get one at minimum.
