I mentioned him the other day as a draft and stash, swing for the fences type of pick. I see him undrafted in a lot of mocks, but I don't see teams passing on a 7'2 player with that mobility for 60 picks. By 45-60 range, he's worth the risk easily.

I feel the same way. It looks like teams might start swinging at mid-majors and foreign talent because they've been underwhelmed. The only riser I see right now is Branham (he's good) and there are a couple I'm surprised didn't get a late bump (Beauchamp and Rollins).
Becoming a huge fan of Branham as well. Wouldn’t mind that being the pick at all.

I know everybody is high on Kai Sotto I just hope the Knicks give a look to Julian Champagnie in the 2nd round. Dude can really rebound and shoot it

I like home grown local talent. Champagnie can shoot that rock, so he's a live choice. He's another one I see going undrafted in a lot of mocks, I'd love to steal him post-draft because he's got enough to at a minimum be good for a G-league team.

Seeing AJG’s medicals might not be the greatest either.

I wonder how bad they could be for teams to shy away. This draft really doesn't have enough convincing talent where I could see teams passing on him unless it was bad. I'd trust our doctors, but I trust a recovery knee injuries way more than back issues like MPJ had prior to everyone passing on him. Mathurin is my guy, Griffin is intriguing BECAUSE he started the season working through a knee injury and still looked good, and then the rest start to blur for me. I know some heads with good scouting that LOVE Davis...I just don't see him like that.

My gut tells me that they really want Ivey but don't think they can get to 4. The dream would be Randle to Portland in a deal for 7 and then Ivey takes an Obi-style tumble to the spot. Indy's got Haliburton and Duarte and Sacramento's got Grant and Fox. So if Detroit isn't interested in pairing Ivey with Cunningham since they're both better on the ball...maybe another lucky break for us.

Worst case scenario, that's still prime position for one of Mathurin, Sochan, or Murray.

The Knicks to their credit are pretty secretive so this isn’t the whole list. A lot of upperclassmen who should be there in the 40’s and a few guys who should be there in the 20’s if they get that 76ers pick.

Unfortunately for you, Ivey hasn't done anything to cause his value to drop (and in Indiana's case, even if they didn't need him, the fans would kill them for passing up the local kid).

Also, Detroit is kinda locked in on Ivey at worst because Troy Weaver might have been the one GM who woulda took a chance on drafting him in the top 3. He's been searching for his own Westbrook.

For Ivey to even fall to 7, something damning would have to come out about him (unlikely) or the cluster of Davis, Mathurin, Sharpe, Daniels, Branham would have to have shown they're better off for Detroit than Ivey, which they can't really prove at the moment.

Moving up to 7 just means you want one of those guys and don't wanna be left with the last one at 11.

It's unlikely, but the NY media push around Ivey makes me think there's real smoke in them trying to make a play for him. I just don't know what that even looks like. Trading to 7 and crossing their fingers for Ivey but settling for Mathurin makes the most sense to me for this conservative FO. They don't take big shots and seem to set serious boundaries on how much they're willing to give up/pay to get the guys they want.

What makes this one particularly interesting is that it's the most enthusiasm that I've heard from the Knicks FO for a player since Obi. The rumors around the Obi pick is that they had lined up a deal to move up if need be, but after gauging the rest of the league decided to stay put. They've been really active in moving a few spaces up or down as needed and outside of missing on Maxey, they've had a really good grasp on where they could get the guys they want since Rose, Aller, and WWW took form.
