WHO'S Portland giving up that matches salary ?

Randle for Eric Bledsoe, Justise Winslow, (both expiring) and the Knicks swap their pick for the Pelican's one and maybe take their second-rounder

:yeshrug:
That is not a crazy trade. It would give the Knicks around 75 Million in cap space pre RJ and Cams cap holds of 44 mil. Basically, they would have $31 Mil in cap space before they sign them. Not a great FA but that is legit money.

It wouldn’t in the NBA today anyone can be traded it’s not like he’s one of these guys making 30M+ a year.

He’s malcontent for that reason alone you just can’t bring him back there is no next season his relationship with the organization, teammates, and fans is broken.

A lot of teams still see an above average power forward that was an All-Star a year ago still in his prime years who could potentially ball out in a different situation or be a stop gap for a treadmill team.

Portland is a fit. I’m sure plenty of inside NBA people see Julius as talented, as a “dog”, see him as a victim stuck in a bad situation with ungrateful fans, see him as a guy who “turned” the Knicks around, probably plenty of people who can excuse his play this year, or point to his raw box score to portray him as a good player still.
Also see that he’s miscast as a top guy and think he’d pair better with a clear star who would dominate the ball. Portland would legitimately be a good spot for him.
