the Knicks need an elite point guard. That’s the foundation they’ve been missing since.. since… since I don’t know when :manny:

Giannis wouldn’t have won a title (besides brooklyns injuries) if they wouldn’t have gotten a point guard. They were one ping pong ball away from Ja Morant.

And Thibs isn’t the coach for team. He’s too stuck on his way of doing things.

I disagree. Jrue isn’t elite. None of the elite pgs have rings except Steph who isn’t used like a pg. I genuinely feel like IQ or Brunson will be good enough at the role down the line but you have to have stars on the wings.

Holiday isn’t elite, but he was the right piece for the team. It made sense. He could be the third scoring option, he plays defense and more importantly he’s consistent and doesn’t need to be a volume shooting to be effective. Curry is unique. You can’t compare him to other guards. Irving is elite, but he wasn’t a good fit with Boston.

In the case of the Knicks, they’ve never had an elite point guard to begin with. You have to go back decades. The way the league has shifted, you with need an elite wing who can shoot, an elite point guard who can score effectively or an alien type player like a Giannis, or Joker or Luka. Zion alone won’t bring you that much success. Lonzo was supposed to be the glue that made Zion and Ingram’s jobs easier while being the third option…. Until he wasn’t. The Knicks had Porzingis, they had Melo and Amare. But no point guard.

Ok your suggestion is trading the 1st pick for Donovan Mitchell then right? Cause I don’t see banking on Ivey being elite when we have better options.

Utah ain’t giving up Mitchell, without gutting the roster. They’re better off going young and sprinkle in some vets. Basically what Houston, OKC, And Detroit are doing.

I can stomach losing when it’s a youth movement. But getting similar results with max contracts and washed up vets :snoop:

Zion does that though. I think we can get him for a reasonable trade too for a player of his caliber.

Trust the words of a man who scammed his friends to pay off his gambling debts to the mob. :gucci:

He won't even confirm the rumors.... won't even say "its legit".... :comeon:
Say what you want about Carton (not a fan personally), but he has been on top of a couple of stories. The issue now is that Randle on that deal is now top 5 worst deal currently with a bullet. Who is even taking Randle?

Itll be impossible to move him right now esp him being a malcontent you couldnt get 50 cents on the dollar for him right now.Best case he comes back next season starts strong and you try to get off him when he has rebuilt some value...Youd need to attach assets to move him even at that point...The irony is even tho it looks like they turning it around with youth thats still gonna be an anchor and could be a disruptive one....
